Looking at my page on the school's computer and ick. The pictures are blurry and I hate those lines bordering them. Eesh.. Well until I get photoshop back on my laptop....Hmmm!! Corel it is.. =(
Good Evening My Friends...
The greetings of ghosts are haunting your way!
A curse will be left if you fail to obey.
To ward off the curse of the dread "phantom's wart",
You have just one day until you must start.
Take treats to two houses in your neighbourhood.
Be sure they are tasty, be sure they are good.
Copy this letter and a phantom for each.
Help spread the spirit to those you can reach.
Post the picture of phantom on your front door,
so others can see he has been there before.
Join the fun of the season, keep it right here in sight,
Share the spirit of giving, 'till Halloween Night.
Signed, The Phantom.
We made rice pilaf and mini meat loafs in foods today. The meat loaf was quite tasty. The rice... eh not so much. ={ Alice had to mix the ground beef with bread crumbs using her hands. Lol I was like...Alice.. you can do that. =P.
I had to finish a couple worksheets at lunch and in blk A. I was so busy working on my CC presentation that I forgot about it. I spent my weekend looking for books and searching the internet for information on the Olympics and at the end of it, my dad says he has a huge book on it. 100 years of the Olympics. lol.. Well, I'm glad he had that, or else my presentation would have been quite boring. I passed the book around for the class to see.
Our school's starting a Bhangara Dancing....squad? team? You'd think there'd be a buncha people coming down to their try outs. Yno just to get invovled, check out what Bhangara is. Nut nope, they were all brown girls who showed. A lot of them already knew the moves.
I put together my halloween costume in 2 days. Yesterday I glued ears to one of my hoodies. I'm using the tail I made last year. The tigger one. I'll be wearing brown and orange. =) With an orange scarf. Tee hee!!
Friday was Breast Cancer Awareness day. Our highschool spirit is slowly crawling its way back up from the hole it fell in. All our "colour-theme" days are coming back. On Friday, everyone was supposed to wear pink. I think at least half the school wore pink, including the guys. Well Thursday and Friday seemed so far away and I haven't really been updating. I can't even remember what's been happening.
I'll just skip to yesterday. Plan was to meet for Sylvia's birthday sushi dinner and then watch Saw III. Her birthday's actually on Halloween itself. But since that's a Tuesday, middle of the week, she had her party this weekend. I left for Guildford around noonish. Had to order Sylvia's present and then do some research for my Greek project. Sucks that we have people doing the same topics. Kristy and I have the same location in Greece to talk about. Hopefully I go first. Ugh. Now I have to put in every single detail about Olympia or else I'll get a lesser mark. I got Sylvia's cap done and the lady asked me when I'd like it to be done by. I said in exact words "preferably today, maybe at the end of today?" She knods her head and tells me to come back around 5 to pick it up. Walked around the mall for a bit. There was some function going on. I think maybe Guildford Town Centre's celebrating their 40th anniversary or something. There were all these people wearing yellow...kids, parents, grandparents...
I head over to the library and start my research. Went to the adult section. There really aren't many interesting books there. It's all old and the selection's so small. I picked out 3 books and went upstairs to find a desk. There were sooo many people. Maybe just coz I don't go to the library I don't really notice that there actually are a lot of people who go to the rec centre. The mall was quite crowded too. What is it.. halloween weekend? =P So I sat there and flipped through all these dusty books for 2 hours. Every single one said the exact same thing. I think I have it all memorized now I don't even need to write anything down. I'll just talk. lol. Went to the kids section coz I figure that's the only place I'll get easy information. I felt so...out of place. Anyhoo.. found a couple books on religion as well as Greece. So there you go, I killed two birds with one stone. I have information for both my projects. The semester essay and the presentation for tomorrow. The kid books had a lot more information than the adults. Or well easily understood. All the information was laid out infront of me. Whereas in the adult books, the information is spread everywhere. Olympia was in a hundred pages but they were scattered throughout the entire book. Anyways...
After I was done, I still had about 2 hours to kill. I went back to the mall and got me something to fill my stomach then phoned Diane. I took out 4 books and my arms were about to break. So I went in search of a tote bag to carry my books in. I seriously went everywhere. Old Navy... AE.. Sears... Le Chateau. Everywhere... none of the stores had a nice tote bag. Then I figured.. Wal-mart. And that's where I got me a nice tote bag. It's black and has Mickey on it! =P So yea.. that was handy dandy. I called Hogen up to see if he wanted to hang out for a bit before we met for dinner and he said he'd come out soon. I waited an hour lol. *eye roll*. Well that's not important. I found a bench so I could write Sylvia's "card". Ok well technically it was a card because it was thick and card-like. Yea it was a cue card. But HEY still a card. I tried to be smart and witty. Don't know if I succeeded in doing so. Since Sylvia's hat said "Pure Stonage", I got her a couple airheads to go along with it. =P So yes, I'm sitting at this bench and an old lady comes by. I move my stuff so she can sit and she smiles at me and tells me it's ok. We sat there and she was watching this little boy who was waiting for his mom to finish talking to lady at the information counter. I looked a her and she just had this smile on her face. She reached into her pocket and pulled out some change, "Oh.. look at that, I found money in my pocket." Lmao I smile at her, "I love when that happens! I forget that I had money then when I find some, I feel so much richer." Haha she goes, "Yea, now I can buy something with it." Things slowly got silent again. Then this young man walks by with a stroller and his son sitting in it. He's yelling at his, most probably wife who is in a wheelchair. He storms off while she follows behind and they're just walking down the mall yelling at each other. That was quite scary. The old lady turns to me and goes, "You can tell that they're married when they start yelling at each other." She points to anothe couple walking away from us and goes, "they probably aren't married yet. He's got his arm around her." Lol I love old people. Kids and old people. Everyone in between..nuh uh. I went back to the Dog's Ear to see if Sylvia's cap was done. The lady gives me a weird look and says, "I told you tomorrow." Like.. wtfrick.. First you ask when I'd like it done. I tell you preferably today and you say to come back at 5. I come back and you tell me it's not going to be done until tomorrow. And not even early, at 1 in the afternoon. How long does it take?! It's not like there are a ton of people walking in there demanding their t-shirts be made right there and then.
Sylvia called me up. She was at Guildford so I met up with her and we walked over to the Guildford sushi place. It's got one of those "Guildford Sushi House" type of names. I don't even remember. Not my favourite food.. sushi. Lol.. I figured, I'm a picky person and there are a lot of foods that I don't hate but just don't like.. but I CAN eat I guess. I figured I'd give it a try with sushi. We always end up changing restaurants when we hang out coz someone doesn't like something. I think there have been a lotta times in the past we'd change restaurants coz everyone wants sushi and I don't. =P Ah what great friends eh? So anyhoo.. I thought I'd give it a try. When we got there, David, Brian, Alice, and Lily were in there. Brandon was next door getting bubble tea. I went out to look for him and he was in this off white sweater. Lmao.. It was....different. I walked up to him, "Brandon... why are you wearing a grandpa sweater?!" Lmao.. He gives me a grumpy look and goes to get his bubble tea. So I go back to the sushi place and Brian and David go, "Did you see his sweater". "Lmao, yea I asked him why he was wearing a grandpa sweater." All night long, as everyone came in, they made a comment about it. Hahaha. Ah man. Beano goes, "I like it.. coz it's big and airy but it keeps me warm..so shh!"
Well I shared a plate of sushi with Brandon. Ick.. all the raw fish. Man.. I don't know how people can just eat that. The sushi's so HUGE too. It's like.. in the centre there's avacado, crab sticks [lmao I almost wrote crap sticks], a piece of.. tuna? salmon? whatever, it was raw fish, cucumber... then it's got a layer of seaweed wrapped around it and then another layer of rice and those orange egg things and sesame seeds spread around it. So... I looked at it, picked it up and tried stuffing it down my throat. Hey I got one piece down? I shoulda ordered tempura or something with Adam. Lmao he ordered a HUGE plate of like 10 pieces of yam. That was a LOT of yam. And the taste is so bland. Don't know how he managed to eat it all.
Later on, the guys had a wasabi eating contest. Jane made a die. Lmao they glued it together with rice. O god. It was rigged. It only fell on the numbers 6 and 3. Adam and Hogen's numbers. So the game is... the first sushi roll is stacked with wasabi. The die is rolled and whoever's number gets rolled has to eat it. Then they get to stack it. They got to the point were there was a small roll of sushi and the amount of wasabi was just as much as the sushi itself, 50-50. Adam had to eat it. Lol.. Poor guy. He was in tears after swallowing that thing. Everyone went except the two white guys left, David and Brandon. Wanta and I played rock paper scissors and so did David and Brandon. Hehehe Beano and I won so David had to eat the sushi. I missed that! I went to the washroom and by the time I got back, David was already crouched under the table. Haha.
So after dinner, we headed over to Empire theatres for Saw III. Eek... Adam gave us a ride in his dad's humungo van. He goes, "It's my dad's van so it's really messy." I open the door and all these empty bottles come falling out. I was like, "...wow".. Lmao...so yea.. Peter came by after for the movie. So did Corey. I didn't even know they got in. O god.. the movie was horrible. Hoooorrrible. All three movies are very very gory. But I actually liked the first one. It's got the whole twist going on. The second one was very disturbing coz people just have no pity for each other. There was one scene where this guy throws the girl into a pit of needles. And she's digging around in the needles to find the antidote so they don't die from breathing some gas that's eating away at them on the inside. Very gross. I never got to finish watching the second one. But the third's a continuation. This one was very .. very.. very gross. I don't know how anyone could just.. think of stuff like that. I think the story overall was good. It's got a lotta twists. All three movies are connected. And throughout the movies you think this cancer patient just feels that people don't appreciate their lives enough so he thinks up all these life or death situations to put these people in to allow them to realize how much life means to them. There's this one girl. The girl in the..first movie? She survived. She was chosen coz she was a druggie and she started slitting her wrists. So she was taken, tied to a chair with a bear trap that opened backwards that was locked to her face. So if she failed, her head would have exploded. She was the only one who survived through both movies. In this one, we find out all the people the cancer patient picked were picked for a reason. All the people picked were somewhat realated to each other and everything leads back to this one girl. All along he's been trying to help her. Well she dies in the end. It was a good movie. Just.. very very disturbing. Very... very very. Ugh. I covered my eyes for all the bloody parts. But it's the sound that makes it horrible. All the screaming and yelling... blood splatting.. drill...whizzing... sizzling...lmao. Ugh. I felt like throwing up. One of the scenes has a guy strapped up. He's got cuffs around his neck, wrists and ankles and the machine is just twisting him. Ugh. I covered my eyes for that part but urrrg you could hear the sounds of bones cracking and I got a glimpse of his leg splitting. Eeeeesh
After that the guys wanted to go to Pearl Fever and we got some more food at Mac Ds after. There was this guy standing in there. His face was painted white with red, blue and yellow circles and he wore a Wonder Bread outfit. It was crazy. But he just stood there. Thought he was advertising for Mac Ds or something. Later on his friends came out from the washroom and they left. My mom said there must have been a halloween party somewhere coz she saw a Witch at Wal-Mart.
Julian tried to pants Adam but.. lmao.. Adam was too fast. He pulled his jeans down right before Julian could. And stood there in his shorts. The people behind were staring lol.
When I got home last night, I left my radio on coz I didn't want it to be silent. Then guess what... the Saw III commercial comes on. Ugh so then I had to turn it off. Lol..
Class was so quiet this morning. "O my gosh, Grant's not here. No wonder it's so quiet".... Ms Oneill spoke too soon. *BAM BAM BAM BAM RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE on the door knob* "I told you Grant was noisy"
We made our chilli in second block. By the end of class, the entire kitchen was full of smoke. Lol I think a couple groups burnt their sauce. Jack and Tom's [on the left] turned out. Well... unlike ours. Lol. I tried some. They burnt everything, from onion and tomato to ground beef. Along with that came the salad. Ew. The lettuce was old and since the french knife wasn't sharp enough, the vegetables were cut in chunks. The dressing...olive oil and wine vinegar... ick.
At lunch, I had to go to Corey's Crime Prevention Week meeting. That was... well... let's just say interesting. Sylvia and Diane were there. Then Waina came by. Krissy left to get her lunch and Corey started explaining. I don't like meetings like those. Reminds me of FHN days when Sam would try to conduct meetings but we'd get absolutely no where just coz the person who called the meeting hasn't thought everything out and at the same time, the people at the meeting don't have as much dedication to what's going on as the person in charge. I used to get frustrated a lot. And that is why FHN has died. But I'm glad. I get access to the camera all year round as well as the programs on th laptop. Hehe. I'm putting everything towards the commencement video. Anyways.. the meeting. Well we had about 5 people in there most of which were probably dragged in there. I don't wanna be mean or anything. Like.. I was in there because I'm Corey's friend and I can't just say no I won't help him. I've already helped out with the flyers, the posters and the banner. But that meeting was horrible. And what made it that way was that all the people in there didn't want to be in there. If it was student council where all the people in there WANTED to be in there, then it'd be a different story. That's one thing about planning events in highschool. If there's no interest and if the planner doesn't do a good job and has bad what's it called.. people....marketing...skills.. It's not going to catch anyone's attention. The posters have been up in the hallways for the past 2 days. I haven't walked by one that has caught my eye. I just see, another piece of paper stuck on the wall. I'd walk right by it without even reading. Another thing is if they don't make an announcement that something's actually happening afterschool, no one's going to stay. Ok... this is frustrating me even more. So I shall stop here.
We watched Alexander in CC. =) Mahli wouldn't let us watch Troy coz he doesn't like Brad Pitt. That's the only reason. Lol. I'm glad tho, I haven't seen Alexander and so far it's very good. We have about 20-30 more minutes to go tomorrow. Tmr's Friday once again. Man time does fly...
I picked me up a bottle of Jones Soda on the way home. Today's fortune reads: A newcomer in your life is becoming more important. Very interesting...
I've completed 2 dividers. Thought I got lotsa good pictures yesterday. But I think most of them were of grade 12s. Still good I suppose. I can use them for my commencement video.
There's something wrong with my computer. Ever since I tried installing the wireless keyboard and mouse, it's super slow now. It's processing SOMETHING. But I don't know what!! I ran a deframent...thinagamajig and it went for 24 hours + before completing and after that, it became slower than ever. I ran virus scans... everything. =( I don't know what's wrong!!!! Evne the school computers are faster than mine. Hmmph!
Ms Oneill did a demo on how to make Chili Con Carne and a green salad today. At first I thought she was only making a salad. "You can't be serious!" Well... hers turned out kinda goopy and very... lumpy. I've never seen chili that dry. And apparently the salad didn't taste very good coz of the olive oil. So Ms Oneill's frying the beef:
Ms Oneill: "ooooh look at that puppy cook."
Marcus: "...It's a cow..."
At lunch, I took out a camera. Mwahahaha! I took so many!! Can't wait to upload them tomorrow and get down to more layouting. Hopefully Mr P knows where to upload them or else I might just decide to kill someone.
During my study I continued my Greek notes [which I never finished but actually got to the right point in the chapter since none of the quiz questions were on the parts after where I stopped]. We have yet another assignment to do. Famous Greek city states..etc etc..I wish Mahli would let us watch Troy in class. That's a good movie to watch =P. In fact! I watched it over the weekend! I also watched Rent on Sunday.. Didn't get to finish it though. Maybe I'll bring my laptop to school tomorrow =P Grr. I've been waiting so long to do my current events presentation. By the time my turn comes, it won't BE current no more! What if blogging goes out of style?!
After school a buncha us helped Corey out with his "Crime Prevention Week" thingamajig. He went out to distribute the flyers I designed for him while the rest of us painted the banner. Adam's very good at painting. All his letters look perfect! Haha.. very cool. He did most of it =P. While Corey was out, he got us some pizza and collected a couple door prizes from Deals Only.
I wanted to play some hardcore singles today but Corey wanted to play mix... Cept.. well he didn't. And we ended up playing doubles. So I was like ok, I wanna play some hardcore doubles today. That didn't happen either. =T... SFU tournament's coming up week after next followed by the Port Moody Tournament. Something like 16 schools entered? That'll be fun.
...remember.i will still be here.as long as you hold me.in your memory...
We made these weird, sauce in breadcups thing today. It doesn't look very appealing. Blech. It looks gross. But actually tastes quite good I must say. If we were allowed to use fresh vegetables and nicer ham and made our own bread, then it would have tasted nicer. But meh for something quick and easy this will do.
At lunch time we hung around the tables as usual. I always seem to find myself at a table full of guys. Don't know where Lily, Diane and Krissy are at the start of lunch.
Beano finally got his hair cut. Tee hee it's so short now!
Went down to Burnaby to the Art Institute of Vancouver, Media Arts and Design sector this morning for an open house. Very cool. Not as cool as VFS but.. cool nuff'. =P. As VFS did, AI had a huge speech etc etc. AI did a lot more talking though. Very informative. After going through what AI is and what it's about we broke up into different groups depending on what course you wish to get into. I don't think I'm gonna do animation... fine arts.. Well.. I don't know if I'm gonna continue with that anymore either. I still have another semester of Art Foundations 12 to complete so maybe just build up the creative side a little more and refresh all my basics. I took Film Studies next semester too so I think I made the right choice there. We had a guide take us around campus. It's basically a building with a lotsa rooms full of computers. It didn't seem very big. Looked like a very comfortable environment though. I mean... there were people actually...sleeping in the labs, sleeping bag and everything. Campus is opened 24 hours, the same as VFS. I think I'll like it there. At the end of it all, I filled out my application and they'll schedule me an interview time some time next week to see if that's really the career I want to pursue. I like the people there. They really... work with you and make sure you're in the right course and guide you through getting a job etc etc. =)
We seem to bring up a lot of very controversial [that looks weird] topics in Foods class. The entire 2 blocks has continuous talking. We go from talking bout diced up ham to gay people to blondes to Concubine... to gay/blonde jokes. Ah man. It's pissing Ms Oneill off. But somehow she's managed to laugh along with some of the jokes.
Well nothing happened that was all that interesting the rest of the day. Michelle told us her story of how she ripped her jeans in CC but that was pretty much it.
...Brandon gets big leaf; Brandon hides behind big leaf; Brandon doing the cake walk; me getting my face painted; me getting my face painted; me WITH my face painted; Peter getting his face painted; Peter the Tiger rawr!...
Practice got cancelled coz of some workshop. Phooie...So we were all in the caf and the plan was to have some Jamie-Diane time. Well.. Alice-Julian-Diane-Peter-Jamie time. =P.. We watched Highschool Musical then went over to Bothwell for Fun Night. Has it been a year already? It can't possibly be... can it... I swear to god the last one I went to was earlier this year. That's so weird. So yea.. We walked around. Looked for Brandon. Then we got some food and wandered the hallways. They had the same stuff; raffle baskets, bingo, cake walk, games in the gym, face painting. I can't remember if there was face painting last year. Well THIS year, Peter and I got our faces painted. It was nuts. I asked Brandon,
"Beano will you paint your face with me?"........*gives me a horrified look* "
NO!" *walks away*
Jmerz goes to Peter.."Peter! Paint your face with me!! You'll be a tiger! To match your yellow shirt!"
"..Wut!? .....Okayyyy"
"What should I be?"
"Mmm...A kitty cat!"
"Oh oh Winnie the Pooh!!"
"Peter.. if you're Winnie the Pooh.... then... your face will just be...mm...yellow.."
"....O yea.. darn"
Alice, Julian and Brandon did the cake walk, =( no cake though. Apparently Cory and Camy won a cake but they ate half and someone stole the other half. When Alice, Julian and Peter left, Beano and I went out to the swings for a bit. It's getting quite chilly out. After, we went to the playground and laid on one of those platforms and looked up at the stars. The sky's so clear tonight. So anyways... we laid there for a while. Then every now and then you'd hear shuffling of feet on the gravel. I turned around and all you could see were sillouettes of little kids coz there was light from the class room behind them. Well... then more kids came. And none of them would cross the playground boundary. Hilarious. Brandon and I didn't move. Then you hear them:
"What are those people doing?"
"Who are those people?"
"Are they hobos?"
"Somebody should tell the principal. Is anyone going to tell the principal?"
I looked at Brandon, "Brandoooon, they're gonna tell the principal we're star watching!!!". Then this short, bald, Mr Devereaux look alike comes walking towards us. And I'm like, "Beano.. there's a man walking towards us".. He goes, "Hey... what you guys doing?" Brandon doesn't move, "We're good, how bout yourself?"..."Oh I'm good." I tell him we're watching the stars. Lol then he goes back to the huge group of kids, "they're not homeless people! Go back inside!"
Brandon asks me to get his brothers so I called out Camy really loudly. They turn around. THEN all of them realized it was us. "Omg.. it's Brandon and Jamie". Beano's mom came to pick us up and she gave me a lift home. She invited me over for dinner Saturday. Just as I got out of the car, she tells me. "Jamie, you're welcome to dinner on Saturday. We're having turkey! And the best stuffing ever!!! 4 o'clock". I was like aww ok! But I feel like I gave the impression I didn't wanna go. Musta been the 4 o'clock that threw me off. Dinner at 4? That's tea! lol.. Yea anyways.. I came home and played a couple hundred rounds of Mario DDR and now I'm exhausted. I'm getting the hang of this game. Muahah you gotta play the hard levels to make it work. =)
"Last night I dreamt I was in a boat. It was pitch black and I kept spinning and spinning....and spinning"
"Then what happened?"
"I just kept spinning."
"That's weird."
I finished a page in Yearbook today. Ugh, Mr P has a folder with print outs of all our work done so far. They are so ugly. Well some are decent. As long as it's neat, it's fine. Just not... ugh. At first I thought Mr P had good... what do you cal it. I mean.. when you see that a page is ugly, you can tell from just glancing at it. The font's huge and ugly and captioned in a huge ugly block. A page has photos that are all lined up then all of a sudden one pictures on an angle out of no where. The captioning's written everywhere and not neat. There are unwanted lines sticking out in places. There are names of people without their last names [which I suppose is alright since we're not having an index this year]. Mr P was saying we just think this year's looks weird coz in past yearbooks, it's been a certain way and that that's just the way we want to see things. Completely untrue. I think all the yearbooks in the past have been crap. But some pages in this year's are worse than crap. Kevin and Mr P just told Diane and I that we're just accustomed to seeing it like that. Hmmph. Anyhoo
We had practice today. =P Before, Corey was telling us about his RCMP thing. Or well, the crime prevention thing. It's Crime Prevention week the first week of November. He's in charge of the event and wants us to help him get some businesses to come in one of the days. And I'm supposed to be making the banner for him. I wrote downa buncha notes for him. Lmao, he goes "Ok someone needs to write a letter to the Now. Who wants to do it?" *silence*.... *looks around*... I look at Adam.. "Adam.. aren't you in creative writing?" Haha. Busted!
I was so hungry so we went over to Esso to pick up some food then came back to school. Hehe candy.. o em jee. I was so hyper!!! For some reason, the gummy bears seemed to like riding the cream soda bottles. Very weird. Every single cream soda bottle you got out of the bag had a gummy bear sitting on it. And the snails.. well I have a picture but I haven't uploading it yet. The pictures above are pretty self-explanatory. I asked Adam what is it that they do in there. Omg.. at lunch.. Adam super glued a penny to the table. I was looking at the tube and I kinda squeezed it coz the tube was so soft. I thought super glue was like u-hu glue. It's clear and kinda gooey. But this was liquid. When it came out I thought maybe it was like oil or something. All the guys look at me and tell me to go wash my hands immediately. Lol oops?!?!? I almost got my ring GLUED to my finger!! lol I thought it wouldn't come off.
I played my heart out again today. Corey and I played full court singles this time and I earned me some points. Muahahaha... lotsa good rallies. I'm loving it. Port Moody's having a tournament soon. I'll be playing the SFU tournament the weekend of Nov 10th.. and 11th. Then the week after that, it'll be Port Moody team tournament. Muahaa and it's all paid for by the athletic department and we get shirts. =) Coolio. I wish I had played the ClearTwo tournament. Their shirts are so pimp. Anyhoo.. time to le go. I'm so tired now.
We made puhs-ghetti today. =P It took sooo long o em jee. This time I went to go get ingredients. Ugh, messy job. There were chunks of tomato flying everywhere, bits of herb scattered across the table, sticks of spaghetti broken into bits and many many trays all around the front counter [and well of course... lotsa people. ] The final product, well, it tasted quite good. But on the other hand, I was quite hungry. Cole called it poo spaghetti coz it wasn't saucy enough. There was so much beef and it was brown in colour. Lol cough cough. The chunks of can tomato weren't that great. The good part of our meal, the garlic bread, topped with parmarsean =P mmm.
I rushed off to badminton at the start of lunch. Sylvia and Corey were already there rallying. I'm getting Corey to help me out for singles. Things are still a little blurry as to whether or not I'll be playing mix this year. I told myself I'd play singles at the SFU tournament. But.. I don't think I will. *gulp*. So today was the first time since Washington that I pushed myself to the farthest I can go. But I think the spaghetti was weighing me down. Coulda gone further. I was at the point where I felt like throwing up. lol. Not so cool. But that was a good set of rallies. We played half court singles.
After lunch I tried to get some of my essay done. But nope, didn't work. I needed the computer and all of them were either being stupid or slow. Wrote my test in CC. Gulp.... Today's test was harder. Everyone walked out of class, "Just gimme the big F now..."
Practice was cancelled after school =( Grr...It took me an entire day to figure out if we had practice. Krissy sends out an email saying practice is Wednesday and Thursday. I ask Mr Nguyen and he says it's today and tmr. At lunch, Mr Pocock comes in and says it's cancelled and its Weds and Thurs. Right after, Krissy comes in and says it's Tuesday and Weds and that she asked McMurtury. Yarg! At the end of the day, the secretary on the announcements says it's cancelled. The team was the cafeteria afterschool so I talked to them for a while. Adam gave me a birdie tube and said I should put it infront of my camera lens and take pictures of people. So that's what I did. I lent Peter the Parapara CD we have. He's gonna learn how to dance. Lmao.. hilarious. [Peter you're gonna have ta dance for me!]
The pictures we [or rather, Diane] take during yearbook seem to look the same every time. But they're always somewhat different than the past ones. I didn't get to do much today since Darren jacked one of our computers and then the other ones didn't have Friesens on it. It didn't have photoshop either. =( I coulda finished so much!
I didn't know it was early dismissal until Lily told me when she was looking through the agenda. Our blocks were all an hour long today coz we have interim reports tomorrow. Ugh. So afterschool, I walked over to Erma and sat infront of Joey's class on the benches. I took a couple photos of this little girl in pink. It was quite amusing watching her climb up and down the wobbly bars since she's so little. When I got home, I put on my blades and went for a spin. Music blasting, cap on, blanked everything out. Now I gotta study for my CC test.
It's got Jme written all over it don't it? Well Mr P liked it so I guess that's what our yearbook is going to look like this year. Funny how Lily, Diane and I are doing the main segment of the book too, the mugs.
Yesterday I had to go out and deposit my check. I finally got paid. Phew. We walked Guildford. Joey went for her first night out alone, sleepover at Kelsey's. She had to pick her up a present. My mom said I was shopping for christmas. =P I got a tank top from Old Navy. Sometime last week, I was looking through their website and I picked out a buncha tanks that looked good. I only saw 3 of the .... 10 I picked out. Ended up getting this orange one that.. well wasn't on the website. But it looked good. =P It says "How bout you and my konos?" I have yet to figure out what konos is. Urban Dictionary said it means cool. But that makes no sense? You and my coolness? Maybe... lol. It only cost....4 bucks. Fancy that!! I also got a set of trippy sharpies and a spiffy binder. I'm gonna start scrapbooking =)
After Joey left last night, my parents and I watched tv while we had our soup for dinner. We watched this documentary on the Ice Hotel in Sweden. Made me feel so cold. After that we watched Sepet. It's about this malay girl who falls in love with a chinese boy. They both live in Ipoh, the town my dad's side of the family come from. Very cool. =P It's so funny and only because I grew up having heard the language and dialects. There are subtitles when they speak in malay/hokkien. And the people have such heavy malaysian accents when they speak english. It's kind of like Singaporeon but I think it's worse there, more....rough.
So this malay girl, Orked. She falls in love with Jason/Seow Loong a chinese boy who comes from a lower class family. He makes his money selling CDs and that's where he first saw her, at his CD stand. She's always liked chinese or asian guys and that's where they fall in love. His ex's brother is the mobster/gang member sort of character and he hates Jason. At some point in the movie, he sleeps with his ex and gets her pregnant. His ex's brother finds out and Jason gets into trouble. He writes her a letter and they go their separate ways. When his ex decides to go for an abortion, Jason writes another letter to Orked telling her about it and how he loves her. She received a scholarship [In one of the scenes, the mom and maid are talking. Orked got 5 As and she received a scholarship whereas Jason got 7 and wasn't qualified for one. This whole movie pretty much has to do between the Malay and Chinese races amongst each other in Malaysia] and was on her way to england when she read the letter. At that moment, he was rushing to meet her at the airport and got into an accident. She phoned him and told him she loved him just before he died on the streets.
Well today, I watched the second movie, Gubra. It basically continues on from where the first movie leaves off. Orked got married to a malay guy very much older than she. Her father collapses one morning and is rushed to the hospital. In this one, there's two things happening. On one side, there's the struggles of young single/widowed women struggling to earn money to support them and their families through prostitution. There's a man who robs one of them and a priest tracks him down to make him return the money the thief stole. The priest tells the thief that the lady he stole from has to work to support her son. He tells the thief he means no harm. When the wallet is returned, the priest leaves the thief. Seconds later, a group of loan sharks surround him and the scene ends with them pulling his hair back and a screw driver held to his eyes. Eeee... And on the other side, is Orked's story. She finds out her husband's cheating on her and ends up with Jason's brother who she meets at the hospital. It's weird though, at the end of the movie, after the credits. There's a scene of her and a guy in bed. But the guy looks like Jason. My parents say it's Jason's brother. But it's weird.. Yashmin Ahmad likes to end movies like that. At the end of the first movie, before Orked's call was answered by Jason, they show him lying on the ground with blood pouring from his head. And in this one, the guy in bed with her looks just like Jason. Yarg!!
These movies were kind of like "I not Stupid" and "I not Stupid Too". Not sure what kind of impact/impression it may leave on someone who hasn't grown up in that area.
Last day, I printed off the grade 12 divider for the yearbook. I never did show it to Mr Pahal though. Today he called us [Me, Diane, Lily] over to discuss.. wait what did we dicuss... Oh yea.. about the mug shots and how we pretty much don't have to do ANYTHING to the page except pick a layout and design the pictures along the side. We don't even have to type in any names. That's so odd. Well I showed Mr P my layout and he loved it. =) 5 minutes later he comes back to me and goes "Hey Jamie...wanna do this page too? Same concept." Muaha.. I love yearbook. One bad thing though is that all our pages are gonna look different. Some will look good. Some will look really bad. And some inbetween. And I think we've lost our theme.
We made casserole in foods today. Since I wasn't here last day, we used Alice's recipe; potato, chicken, beans, cream of mushroom, breadcrumbs, cheese. It wasn't that great. The potato wasn't boiled enough and we didn't have enough time. So they came out KINDA crunchy. After the time was up for baking, we left it in another 10 minutes and our potatoes were sorta softer. However Jack and Tom decided to cut theirs into huge chunks so they had crunchy casserole. Their's tasten a lot better though. I think we forgot to add something. Salt maybe. Or maybe theirs was just too cheesy. Mmm cheese. We should have used pasta instead of potatoes. I tried Sam's casserole and mm it was so good. He had cheese and ground beef. Mmm I think I'll snag his recipe and make it one day =P. All of a sudden I have a craving for trifle.
Got out late for lunch and I was already half full of casserole. I went up to my locker where I met Brandon then we went down to the band room. Watched him, Troy and Jason do their 'thang'. Troy and Beano on guitar and Jason on drums. Cept... all you could hear was Jason's drumming. The guitars were soft compared to it. Altogether: A lot of noise. Beano went to check out if there was soccer and I sat with the "gang" at the caf tables. Those tables are actually quite good. But the old green chairs were a lot more comfy. Our school looks like a typical american highschool with the new ones. I should take a picture. =P
I tried to do some work in our spare. It worked, I guess. Doug and Jason came by then Brandon was complaining his butt hurt from sitting so Jason suggested we go to the library. The 3 of us sat on the comfy couches and luckily Whitlock wasn't here. She probably would have kicked us out. Don't think she likes when people do homework on the couches. She's afraid we'll get pen marks on them, which I guess is reasonable.
Had C.C right after. We were in the library so I just had to run upstairs to pick up my book. Ugh.. we have abstacts due next week. =[...my presentation's coming up. I don't even know what I'm gonna do. I love my Comp Civ class. Andrew can get pretty annoying at times but he's quite funny. Guess I'll be working my butt off this weekend. Lotsa worksheets. Work that I missed on Thursday. Semester long essay!
Afterschool we had practice. Ugh I coulda sworn we had the gym at 3. >=(. Gr volleyball. We went out to watch the Jr boys soccer game. Lol not even 5 minutes into the game, we score. What luck eh?
So practice was alright. Sylvia I'm so lonely without you man! Come back soon! We have an SFU Tournament to play!!! Muaha! Still not sure if I'll be playing mix this season. Feels weird since I've played mix the past 3 years. Or actually.. 4.. I played mix with Ke-li in grade 8. We got gold in Surreys too =). So today, I played with Wanta. We played Diane and Lily. Aww we lost though. I made so many duff shots =(. It was horrible. All the points lost were coz of me. Cept for the very last shot when they were on game point. It was the longest rally though. Brian, Brandon and David were on the side lines cheering. Well after practice the group left for Empires. They're watching The Grudge II. My parents came to pick me up and we went out for dinner. It was already kinda late. 6:15 when I called and I was about to rush home when my mom told me we were going out for dinner. When I got in the car, my dad asks where I wanna go for dinner. I was like.. wow I get to pick?! I thought you already had this planned out! I said, somewhere we've never been before.. like maybe Anduccis or Earls or The Keg or something. He goes, there's this Pho place we haven't been to. And I was like.. Ok if you're gonna decide then don't ask me. Lol We ended up going to ABC country's. We've only ever been there once, 4 years ago with Darrel. I had the Chicken Schnitzel. Ah I love that word! Schnitzel.. I thought it was like a corndog though. It came out as a breaded chicken fillet. Oh THAT'S a schnitzel? Oh but I was stuffed. It came with a side of mash potatoes and these.. boiled rubber vegetables lmao. And I had almost 2 cups of iced tea.
...Photobucket's pretty trippy with all these weird photo thingamajigs...
We stopped by Winner's after. I got me a brown hooded fleece. Really really nice material. And another thinner one. It's got both collar AND hood! How spiffy! =P That one was quite pricy though. 50 bucks? From winners. Original price was 90 though. It looks good though, I don't have many good sized hoodies. They're either too small, too big, or for spring [too thin]
So thing's turned out alright for a Friday the 13th eh?
...if they flew over bays, they'd be bagels [bay-gulls]...
My CC class took a trip down to the Vancouver Art Gallery and Vancouver Film Festival today. We took a bus down, both block A and B. Mr Emerson and Steel came along with us. Lmao Steel brought along his portable stool. He carried it around everywhere we went and each time we stopped, he'd open it and sit.
The ride there wasn't very eventful. It was VERY boring. I had my tunes plugged in all the way. Raf said nothing to me the entire way and eventually he plugged in his iPod too. It was the most boring trip ever. The gallery opened at 10. We had about 15 minutes to kill. It was a pretty nice day out. The sun was shining and the air was cool. Mr Mahli was actually dressed very casually. Usually he's in a dress shirt and nice black pants. He wore a denim jacket today.
Once we got in, no photography =(. Sasha, Andrew and I started from the top level and worked our way back down to the lobby. 4th floor: Portraits and The Zero Yen project [make-shift hobo houses in Japan basically] There was one of this guy. I swear to god he looked like Simon. We walked along this corridor and around the corner laid this egg shaped rock with horns sticking out the side. There was a projector pointing at it with an image of a man's head. Freaked the h-e-double hockey sticks out of Andrew. In that room, they had 3 tv monitors set up. They played this japanese man reciting a creepy poem. But all three tvs synchronized. They either talked at the same time or took turns which was pretty cool. Creepy cool. 3rd floor: Aboriginal Art. There was a room with a huge black curtain covering the entrance. I didn't know what it was but there were noises coming from it and so I tried to find a way in. Just as I pulled the edge of the curtain aside, Cait comes out REALLY fast. I screamed so loud. Jeez...why is the art gallery sucha freaky place. We had to fill out a couple worksheets. Ugh so troublesome. I had the crumpled pieces of paper in my pocket, going from exhibit to exhibit, squatting down each time I had something to write. 2nd floor: My favourite, Modern Art. They called that exhibit, "Paint". Some of the paintings were nice. Others were down right weird. Pretty crazy. 1st floor: Emily Carr and all her works. She pretty much had the entire floor for herself. There were so many rooms with her paintings in them. I didn't get to go through all of them since we were running out of time.

...Mr Steel and his stool; Mr Steel playing chess; Mr Mahli...
We had an hour to roam around town. Sasha, Edwin and I stopped by Starbucks then we went to this bistro, Bellaggio. Very very cool. Well used up every single minute of our time before heading back to the gallery. The group waited for everyone to return then walked down to Empire Theatres on Granville. We were about to leave when we found Mr Steel missing. Lol he was sitting under some trees playing chess with these random old guys. So cute! There are these old guys who sit under the trees on the concrete slabs with their chess pieces and they just challenge each other and whoever else comes by.
There were SO many people!!!!! I think there were probably 3 or 4 other schools there as well as the public. They were giving out chocolates at the entrances. =P Dark chocolates though. Ick! The movie we watched was an italian film, Never Again as Before. It's about these friends who finish their last year of highschool;an adventure seeker, a musician, his preppy girlfriend, a not-so-pretty girl who likes the musician, a spastic, and a gangster-like guy who flunks school. They spent 5 years of school together and went on vacation together up in a deserted mountain top. They stay in a little cabin. The next day, 4 of them, all but the spastic and prep leave to hike up the mountain and find themselves caught in a storm. And basically, they all learn from each other. They weren't great friends before but after the trip they started getting to know each other. It was quite a touching movie. I think my eyes were watering at one point. One of the guy's dies which was so unacalled for. Ugh, it dragged on for the longest time too. I thought it was gonna end so many times. But noo it just kept going. It was like the third Lord of the Rings.
After the movie, we bussed back to school and I stayed to watch the second half of the Sr Boy's Soccer game. Well, we lost.. lol.. 0-2. But I think the team's doing better. They're working with one another. More of a team now that the better players aren't there.
I phoned up Beano after dinner today. He said,
"Yno North Korea's testing nukes"
"And?"
"What do you mean AND?"
"...I mean.. and? What's happening?"
"Well the US is trying to stop them. But the prime minister is like, how come other countries can test nukes and we can't."
"Mmhmm....."
"BASICALLY, Korea's like, we're testing nukes since the rest of the world can and if you try to stop us, we'll bomb you!"
Ah, he's so funny. I went through my Nostradamus book after I got off the phone and here's what it says under 2007:
Fire from above will spike the fugitives
Soon the ravens will start bickering
Earth-bound cries beg heaven for assistance
When the fighters approach the walls.
[Then there's a HUGE page that I will not type out lol]
Summary:
North Korea will refuse to accede to the West's demands over clarification of its nuclear capacity. A crisis will be triggered which may lead to war.
Well, guess we'll have to wait til next year to see what happens. Basically, North Korea's testing nuclear weapons and everyone says it's dangerous. etc etc...It's all up on Wikipedia [I actually read all that?!]
I finished the layout for the Grade 12 Divider today. It still needs some adjustments but I think it'll do for now. I need to get out and take more pictures. We're running out and everyone keeps asking if they can use my photos. Hmmph. I wish I had a picture of my layout. After class I dumped it in my locker. This morning, Diane got ahold of my camera again. She was doing weird things and making weird noises. Lmao. She'd point the camera at me and make a weird sound then I'd kinda give her a weird look and she'd snap the shot. Here's how it goes;Double u tee eff?, Uggggh Diiiaane, Fine I'll take the picture!, Yarh!!
I took the video camera out in my study block and went down the hallways filming through all the grade 12 classes. I got some nice close-ups of Chad. Lol Too many close ups of him. We went out to the school parking lot to get some footage of the cars. I have some of the exterior of the school. Then we went out to the field where Mrs Brown had her grade 8s. Ah they're so little. Hard to imagine that we were once that little [and cute lmao]. Well, we talked to Mrs Brown for a bit. I've never really talked to any other teacher like that other than with Mr Nguyen. Feels....feels good. =) She was being so open, constantly dissing Chad. Beano wanted to play soccer so badly. He put on a pink pinny [definately his colour] and stood in goal, told the kid to get out and run. Mrs Brown looks over, "hey what the, BRANDON get out of there! What are you doing!" The two of them stood on the side lines for a while. They couldn't stand it, both of them ran up on the field again. Lol by that time Brown couldn't care less. "Don't let those big kids scare you!"
She was talking about her grade 8s and how some of them are just. Not open. They see someone kicking a ball towards them and they run away. She said if we ever have a daughter, throw her into all these sports when she's 3 years old and get her beaten up a bit, toughen her up. Lol. I'm gonna miss highschool =(
...Dookmahhhhhh...
I did work in Yearbook! Lol, actually getting a hang of InDesign. I think we need more pictures though. Lily and I have to share. The ones she uses, I can't. Vice versa. Tomorrow I'm gonna upload my soccer pictures.
Well the block order changed today. Ugh I don't like it. My lunch hour's extended and it's like, I have to stay in school until my last block. Makes me feel like it's not worth staying since it's just one block.
I played some badminton at lunch with Waina, Corey, Jackie and then Craig. Waina and I played doubles against the guys. Won one, lost one. =P The gym floor is so slippery! It's been like that the past 2 weeks! Someone's gotta clean it!
My study's right after lunch now. I was in the caf with the guys [Beano, Dustin, Jason, Dougie]. Dustin got ahold of my stickies. He scribbled a buncha things and stuck it all over his face. I wrote "Hi, my name is Dustin". Ok well I meant to write Dustin but I don't know why I can't write his name. I spelled it Dustio. =P. Whoopsie Doodles? Yvonne gave me one of her cookies from Tim Hourtons. Mmm it was the best cookie ever!!! She's always asking me if I want cookies omg. This one had a smile on it. I shall post the pictures up on Flickr in a sec. This cookie was deadly. It was jam packed with sugar. You could feel the granuals..granuels.. gran....yes. Dustin likes to call Doug, Dook Ma now. It's hilarious how he says it though.
We didn't really do much in CC. Julie did her current events presentation [ugh, I gotta think of something cool for mine, which IS coming up], then Mahli talked for a large portion of the block. We watched a video for the remaining 45 minutes of the class. Ancient Secrets. Lol I learned something new today! =P! The pyramids of Giza are in the spots they are for a reason. They copy the way the stars of Orion's Belt are positioned and the Nile being the Milky Way. Very interesting stuff.
Afterschool, I was out on the soccer field with Dustin and Doug. We played JH today. Half the team didn't show since they can't make it to championships anymore. Pfft what a team eh? So Gill was frantically trying to find players. We were missing I think 3 or 4 players. Dustin borrowed Koolay's cleats and socks. In 5 minutes he was playing for FH. =P It was so easy to spot them. Dustin was the only one wearing white socks. Beano was the only one wearing a white bandanna. Doug wanted to burn it. Well today's score, 1-4. And guess who scored the goal? Dustin. The guy who seemed to have given up soccer ages ago. Soccer's one long game man. I've never stayed the entire game before. 90 minutes long! Beano got put in goal partway through. Haha he looked so trendy with his bandanna and white gloves. =P
Well, PNE finally replied my email about my paycheck. NOW they'll mail it to me. *eye roll*. Well I guess at least they replied me and said they'd mail it. I got a reply from someone from Kin's Market as well. I was thinking of maybe working there. They're hiring. Not sure I want to work there anymore. Alvin warned me bout nasty people. Haha.
I'd planned to work on my CC project all day yesterday. I spent an hour cutting up paper, staining it with tea, waiting for 12 pages to dry. Then I spent another 2 hours in the garage with my tunes blasting, drawing in Egyptian Gods. By the time I finished about 4 pages, it was time to pack up and get ready for dinner.
When I got up, the house was silent, as it is every morning. Beano called up at around 11 and said he was going out for a run and that he'd stop by for a bit. He was so icky and sticky when he came!!! I saw him running uber fast from my window! =P I showed him my pokemon figurine collection [one day I'll take a picture of my entire family of pokemon...there's got to be over 100] and we watched football while I ate my lunch. He didn't stay very long. =(
Left for Aunty Junes around 5 for our Thanksgiving Dinner. Mmm best dinner ever. Uncle Richard made scalloped and mashed potatoes. Aunty June made the turkey as usual. There was a huge caesar salad, I don't know who made that but it had a lotta weird things in it...I mean.. grapes? raisins? It was interesting. Jane stole Matt's PS2 and Guitar Hero for the night. We were up in her room playing. Ah that game is so crazy! I saw it at the arcade when we were at Metro. You have an actual [plastic] guitar and it's got 5 keys [frets] and there's the part were you "strum", kinda like a flick switch button. Basically, you follow the bar and the colours, switching as the colours and rhythm changes. We played that all night. Was annoying since the songs were so long and there were so many people playing though. I had my name under all the spots for "No One Knows - Queens of the Stoneage" until Jane beat my score, 96 000. My highest was 93 000. Too bad we don't have a PS2. Haha maybe Nintendo will come up with Mario Guitar? =P On the other side of the house, they set up DRR on the Xbox. That game is still pretty hard and it only looks cool when you can do the fast ones.
We got our go cards today. Whoever did the layout, did a cruddy job. The background's basically...a flat blue. Not a very nice shade of blue either. They also probably put in the wrong dimensions as the mug shot. Everyone's pictures are stretched and slightly blurred. Mind you, I like my picture. I actually looked quite good this year. =P And since the photo's stretched, everyone looks skinnier as well!! =P I had to go up to Mr Ahn's room to pick it up. Hmph, the secretary didn't fix my schedule and where all the block A documents and stuff are supposed to go. I'm so confused as where to go to pick up things now. Derbyshire gave me a Grad Committee sheet and a slip to fill in what theme we want for grad. Brandon stole mine and wrote Beer on it. Lmao... he wrote Beer on his too.
The projects begin...now. I have an "Egyptian God calendar" to make. We're supposed to match the Gods with the months of the year. Mr Mahli said we can match it with the seasons. But then everyone's gonna do that. If I did something else though, I'd have to do a ton of research, figuring out what happened in every single month to match it with the Gods. We were in the library today. I sat with Sasha, Andrew and Dorian/Josh [I really don't know what to call him. One minute I'm addressing him as Josh, the next it's Dorian...I guess, today, it's Dorian lol]. Andrew didn't stop talking all block. It's quite amusing sitting with the guys lol. Well what we had to do was research stuff for our semester essay. I took out a Dictionary of Creation Myths. It's gonna take me forever to find stuff. @_@
At lunch, Diane... ok well Lily and I went around taking photos for yearbook. Diane was supposed to too but she had to finish up her... math? We've been sitting by the cafeteria tables the past week. I think we've found ourselves a new hang out spot. No more "bridge to nowhere". Lily and I just went around snapping photos of random people. We needed a lot more white people lol. I was working on the divider and it's like, all asians. It's so annoying taking pictures of people you don't know. They kinda stare at you when you ask if they want a yearbook picture. Or, well.... I had a couple of people who wanted their picture taken today so that was good. Then the tough part is making sure everyone gets their names down. There are so many people! I think I messed up a couple names today. =S. I'm liking that course though. Making magazine layouts. The crappy thing is not all the computers have InDesign and Photoshop. And I STILL don't have my account. Poo.... I keep forgetting to ask Mr Nguyen for my account. So we were sitting at the tables and Ke-li tells me Brandon was looking for me. He ran by and told me to follow him to the band room. So I do. Snapped a couple shots of Troy and Dustin and talked to Amy for a while. Brandon gets his stuff and leaves. So weird! Asks me to follow him then leaves me!! He was running back and forth from the gym [soccer] to the band room [guitar]. Lol, and of course stopping by to say hi [I was in between].
Foods was fun today. I can't remember what Ms Oneill and our group were talking about, but it was hilarious. Grant...and Cole weren't here today. Class was quieter. I think I prefer it that way. We can have at the most..2 or 3 class clowns. But that's as high as it goes. Fred wasn't as annoying...he IS funny though. Since we're copying notes now, the stuff's a lot easier to learn too. I like copying notes. Maybe coz I like writing. Everyone seems to dread the fact that they have to copy notes. It's not like we're making up our own, just copying. =P
Practice was "cancelled" afterschool since volleyball needed the gym. Corey somehow managed to get Mr Williams to supervise us though. Shortly after we go in the gym though, the janitor kicked us out coz Williams wasn't actually THERE to watch us. WHICH is stupid coz whenever we get the gym, Mr Nguyen's rarely there, Mr Pocock doesn't come in until the end of practice. How come he doesn't say anything then??? Not lotta people showed up since they didn't know we got the gym. Everyone's got the Clear One tournament this weekend. =( Sniff sniff, I wanna play. I miss all our tournaments. Jr B Provincials, Washington.... =[...
After "practice", Beano came over and we watched the rest of the hockey game. Canucks were down 2-nothing. I never watched the end of the third period but when I checked, we beat B Jackets 3-2. Brando was just screaming at the TV the entire time.
"Nooo!! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"
"If it's stupid, why are you watching?"
"We suck!!!! Omg!!"
"Then turn it off.."
"Arh go go go!"
I cover his eyes, then he starts whacking me with the pillow.
I think....today is the whatchamacallit. Mid Autumn? Fest? Mooncake festival...day.. lol. Unfortunately, we haven't got any mooncakes.. so no picture =(.
We're starting out semester essays for Comparative Civ so the entire class had to do a process of elimination, battling for the topic questions that we want. My top three were something like, differences between two different types of Buddhism, Creation theories, and..and..I forget the last one. Janette and I played Rock, Paper, Scissors for my first choice [as well as hers]. I won 3 times! But yea, I gave it to her. I ended up with Creation Theories. That should be pretty interesting.
Played some badminton at lunch with Sylvia. Mwahah I was on a roll!! Until we had to play a game then after that I just sucked. =(
I thought we were gonna cook something today! My hopes were dampened when I stepped into class and Ms Oneil goes, "pick up your stuff, we're going next door to write your test." It was relatively straight forward. A lot of the stuff is basically, you learn, you cook, you know it. I got 135 out of 142? I think? Or maybe I'm thinking about my CC test. That one I got 35.5 out of 43. Meep. So second block, we just marked the test and copied some notes. Ms O blew like a volcano. I bet she's been holding all that anger and frustration in for a while coz after she yelled at the class, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Quite scary, coz she's sucha happy person. Well I still think she's cool.
We had practice after school again. It's so weird how we're getting so much after school gym time this year. Last year.. pfft. But I guess I was more focused on FHN last year and no one else on the team would ask Nguyen for practice times. I had to do everything!! This year, it's more badminton... FHN.. Well actually, Jeremy posted a message on our MSN groups for FHN and he said we booked the lab for a meeting for FHN. Guess he's starting to take control. That's good. I'll prob just do the editing. He can go around and talk to people, interview people... yatta yatta.
Before practice, Lily and I went to get something to eat, then we went out to the field to catch some of the Sr Boys Soccer game. They played Fleetwood Park today. Well, not as bad as the last game. Last time, their defense wasn't as great. They were actually on the other side more today [closer to the opponent's goal]. WHICH also means that I couldn't get any good close up shots of them lol. Beano came by and stole some of my Terriyaki chicken rice then went off with the team. I got a couple shots of Amy and Simran out for their Field Hockey fitness run. Psh, Simran ran a short way so she could be in the picture. Har har. Half their team wasn't even there and people were just sitting on the grass talking lol. *Flips open yearbook* "This is what the Field Hockey fitness session looks like"
Back at the gym, the nets were already set up. Brian and Nathan showed up. I'm not even sure what our team looks like. It's weird. We don't have enough players for 2 teams. Or, it doesn't look like it at least. OR, those people aren't showing up. We have the regulars, Diane, Lily, Sylvia, Waina, Corey, Jensen, Clarence, Peter, Ke-li, Alex, Julian....... Tony, Christin, James, Steve, Mark... they come by to snag some court time. Then there's a couple people who always come but I'm not so familliar with them. We had a full gym but with all these people from outside our school/team playing, we definately don't have enough players to make up 2 teams. Hrm..so Sylvia and I played against Diane and Lily as usual. Eeeee.. our rackets clashed today. ><"! [Yes the fob face is out!] This time, somehow....somehow... they clashed at a certain angle and the frame of Sylvia's wilson just.. cracked. Not completely, but you can see the crack. Peter's racket cracked like that yesterday, today it gave way and the frame just crumpled. Owie. Hm, Beano and Wesley came by after the soccer game and they were gonna play but B had to go early as usual. Sylv and I continued playing and after we played mix with Brian and Jensen. Wow I haven't played a serious mix game in so long and we actually had couple of good rallies. Just, flat drives all the way. Ah I'm getting pumped!!
So I read in a badminton magazine that the rules have been changed. It's now rally point. So whichever side wins the rally, gets to serve. And whatever point they have, the person on that side [even or odds] gets to serve. It's soooo confusing coz you have to keep adding and changing as the rallies go on. Ugh, as if people don't get confused enough with the regular rules. It took me a while to get it when we were playing yesterday with Corey, Julian, Adam and Sylv. Ah, another day done and tomorrow's Friday once again. Another long and busy weekend.
So I'm in yearbook right now. A whole double block of... I-don't-know-what. I don't even know what we're doing. Mr P downloaded the Friesen's Program so it's got all the layouts and everything in InDesign cept they are SO ugly. Well and I have to wait until Friday when we actually go out and take some pictures. Rachel and them are just loading up their folders with tons of pictures. We still have the same old ones from Welcome Back Week. Okaaaaay...maybe I'll do SOME work. Let's see if I can find a program where I can fix up some pictures and I'll steal some pictures from Rachel's folder. She took so many of me!!!
Yearg... Hrm. Diane discovered Adobe Illustrator since there's no other program on that computer. So she was playing around with that for a while. All I hear, "OMG JAMIE! Look!!!.. Whoaaaa!!!! Woahhh!!!! OMG!! Jamie!!! Haha. That's so cool!!!" Corey's a.k.a Coreykin's training Adam and Julian at FH rec after school. Sylvia's sick and about to die but she STILL wants to go. Well I think my cold's gone now. I still have a weeee little bit-o sniffles but.. I think if I drown it away with coke, it will go away for good. =P
This morning, Matt came by and he asked me to help him draw a little part for his drafting/wood project. Cole decided he wanted to help me colour my map of Egypt so I let him. I labelled all the rivers and seas and he coloured it in. Lol. Then I played 'War' and 'Go Fish' with him. Hilarious. When B played, their game lasted forever and he ended up losing. When I played, I beat Cole 3 times!! I saw this guy walking his dog, huge greyhound. Sucha nice dog. It was so big!!! It's like one of them superdogs!
O em jee. Apple's got a new iPod Nano. I guess basically the iPod mini design but in the size and shape as the nano. I think Jensen's got a silver one. 8GB.. Hrmm...They've also got a new iPod shuffle. That one looks cool cept it's only 1GB. So which is better? Size of the iPod or the amount of memory. Grr I still haven't gotten a job yet. Need.. to.. get...out.. to...Guildford... It's Thanksgiving weekend. I think we're going to some...lol.. some place for a picnic. No turkey this year?!
6:05pm
This is what we do in yearbook. Diane stole my camera and then after Lily took over and snapped a whole lot of pictures. We have; Fobby with the 'peace!', heart shaped glasses, picture perfect, *click*, special goggles, 'put yo feet in the air and wave'em like you just don't care, bang bang, epiglottis!
...now there's a weird guy running towards you about to attack you!...
I helped out Mr Nguyen in the library today. He wanted me to copy the Talent Show. Hmmph. Cept...I couldn't figure out how >=(. He gives me the laptop, the DVD and two blank discs. And he said I have to import the file to iMovie then re-burn it. But... I couldn't see how that worked. Well, it didn't. So he told me to go call Apple Computers. I was like WUT! You call them! So he phoned up London Drugs and guess what, the dude goes, "Go on their website, it should tell you how." Great... Well by that time I had to pack up for class. Tomorrow I think I'll get more work done. I'll copy all the clips off the cameras and maybe go around the hallways filming all the grade 12 classes. That'd be cool. I can picture commencement already haha. Noooo!
I finally got called down for my shot in block B. Took em long enough. Beano was like noooo stay at the back of the line I don't wanna go to french!!! Owie, this shot actually hurt!! When we were in the line up, the guy comes by and goes, "So you guys know what this shot is for? Yea Menningitis. And do you know how it's spread? Yea through the saliva. So once you get this shot, you won't ever get Menningitis. But don't immediately go around sharing spit!" O God.
I did something in Yearbook today! Wow!! I fiddled around with Photoshop. Lily, Diane and I are in charge of a heck a lotta pages. We have to do dividers for each individual grade as well as the grade layout as well as whatever's in between. One problem, we don't have enough pictures. I made a purtty layout for the divider. Well, just an idea. But Mr P said I couldn't use it. Coz we have to use InDesign. Ugh, stupid Freisens. He showed Lily and I something about backgrounds and how it gets really pixelated when you look at it up close. Ah now that I think back to all the times I've listened to him explain something to me, it's hilarious. Coz most of the time, I either don't get him or I don't agree yet you find me knodding my head going, "yea exactly...mmhmmm". Well, I really don't know what he wants us to do with the yearbook coz the way we've been working on it, seems fine. But he seems to know what he wants and what he's doing. It's just too hard to make a layout in InDesign and then have to like link the fonts and picture files into a folder to match. That aside, Diane and I have been super hyper in class the past 2 days. I think it's coz I'm sick I just really don't care about what's going on around me. XD
We made pizza in foods today!!! I really don't like the pizza crust recipe. It tastes horrible. Needs sugar. Other than that, the toppings were yum; tomato paste, green peppers, salami, mushrooms, and TONS of cheese. Tom, Jack, Alice and I were the last group in there. God we took so long to wash up. Julian came by, Diane and Krissy came by. Sam hung around and all of us stood around the windows spying on Jensen and Jane. Even Ms Oneil was standing with us. Haha, she's so awesome. It's annoying that the guys keep pissing her off. Our class would be so much more fun if they'd just stop talking. So we were all watching these two as if the window were a tv monitor. Our little clean up session turned into lotsa teasing.
"oh.. Oh.. OH!!"
"You guys are horrible"
"So who's this guy"
"Julian"
"You're the one who helped her get answers from Mrs Godwin!"
"Who's out there?"
"OHHH they're so cute!"
"Who's Brandon"
"OHHH"
"There's Brandon"
"Wasn't he the one who tried to sneak into my class once"
"....naww"
Hogie pogie came by after school to play some badminton. Beano stayed back for practice too cept he had to go early =(. The air's so cold out but the sun makes it all better =). Tomorrow's going to be a day of taking lotsa good pictures...just you wait! *checks weather* Crud... it's supposed to rain. Hrm. Well THURSDAY is going to be a nice sunny day + there's badminton at lunch, afterschool and there's a soccer game. Home game versus Fleetwood. Brandon said I'm not allowed to watch him play though. *sniff sniff!* I probably will. =P I'll take more pictures.
Today...was a regular day... Yeah...Nothing BIG happened. But it wasn't THAT uneventful. Wow this is sad...compared to stuff that happened over the long weekend. We finished watching "Hero" in C.C. and the class was heated up in discussion on "Males and Females in the world today" and how it's changing. How, if people could change the gender of their children before they're born, the world would want more boys and then there'd be more guys than girls which would then result in females being more valuable and society would thus change. People will be less sexist since females will be increasingly more important. Or....males will just dominate... lol But then our population would decrease. Anyhoo!! We talked about that all the way til the end of class. We were supposed to be marking a sheet on early China. Never got to finish doing that.
No badminton at lunch. No soccer at lunch. Beano and I went out to the field. Such a nice day out. This morning it was freezing though. I was quite miserable walking to school. And I've been wishing for this weather! Yea so I couldn't find anyone today. Anyone being, Diane... Lily... or Krissy. Jane and I stood by the stairs for the longest time. Everyone was gone. =( I followed Beano to the gym to see if there was soccer. He threw some stuff out of his locker and was sooo grumpy looking for his cookie. Then he reached into his pocket and it was in there. He was like "Ah HAH!!" in this strong, loud, evil voice. Ah that was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing after that. Yea so we laid out in the sun all lunch. I think that explains why I have wet grass stains on my jacket. =(! It just got out of the wash!!
I tried to do something productive in yearbook today. But when I don't have an account of my own and I don't have access to photoshop on the computer, it makes it very very hard for me to do so. Lily said I can just work on the stuff at home. I should. Cept....that way I don't have access to the pictures in the school system. Hmmph. I hate the school's computers.
I think our foods class is driving Ms Oneil crazy. She's at the point where she's just...not happy no more. =( [I've been using so many sad faces today for some reason]. Ms O is a VERY happy person. It takes a lot to dampen her day. Our class has been succeeding at doing just that.
Huzzah! We get the gym 3 days this week. =) [There's one smiley!] Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Lunch time on Tuesdays and Thursdays too. We should have gotten all of this gym time last year.
-9:16pm-
Hoo~ Just got back from babysitting. Man they were hyper today [as if they aren't always]. Well Chris wasn't ignoring me today. He wasn't trying to avoid me either which was very...different. I thought it was gonna be like the last time. 10 minutes of talking to their mom. Another 10 to get them all settled. Put on the movie, an hour and a half... and before you know it, time to go! Well they had things to do today unfortunately. Well they never to do any of those things anyway since dinner took forever, dessert took forever. I ended up playing with Jo's building set with Mags. Chris and Ally did their own thing. By 8:40 I was upstairs trying to get Joseph to calm down. He didn't want to go up so I had to take out the "...there will be consequences"..."...you don't want dad to be mad"..."Last one up there's a rotten egg...I'm winning!" Lmao o boy. I actually got both of them done their jobs at 5 minutes to 8 when their dad came home. I heard him yelling at the other two so... eee.. uh oh =S. Ah but now, I'm home... in my nice nice cozy quiet room, eating these grapes Vivian's mom brought. They're so sour! And they taste like..like how grape juice tastes and how grape gummies taste. How very strange. I've never had these kinda grapes before. If only they didn't have seeds.
Dream a Little Dream
Stars shining bright above you, night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you".
Birds singing in the sycamore tree, "Dream a little dream of me".
Say "nighty-night" and kiss me. Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be, dream a little dream of me.
Stars fading, but I linger on, dear.
Still craving your kiss. I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear.
Just saying this. Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you.
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me.
Stars fading, but I linger on, dear.
Still craving your kiss, I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear.
Just saying this: Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you.
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me.
So I spent my day finishing up my homework. Lazed around the house. I ate so much! I just felt like munching sooo much, so I took out the Munchies! Mm.. Ugh... I still feel.. "hung over". It's weird. I've been feeling like this the past 2 days, ever since the sleepover. Je suis...fatigue! I slept early last night all the way through 10 in the morning but somehow I still feel tired. Well I'm gonna go get some ice cream [O god... food again! But whatever makes me happy eh?] and then finish up my notes and probably sleep. I found out that I have to go pick up the rest of my pay cheque from Playland. Grrrrr stupid thing.
And this is for Grace; I took out my collection of bandannas. I don't think I've worn every one of them even once. There are so many!! I'm missing the dalmation one that my aunt got and the dark army brownish one that Lily got. Hehe they're in the wash. I shall go on a bandanna hunt one day. Missing the colours pink, lime, purple, grey, light khaki, a nicer orange...lol...I think, I could go on....
