Apparently I was supposed to pick up my Rafting CD from Mr Milross today along with my report card but I was late so I never got it. Hmph. I shall go tmr and hopefully he's there. I paid 5 dollars for that CD
I got a call some time last week from the school saying that I had gotten an award. Out of all the years I've been at Fraser Heights, never have I once been to these awards thingies. The school somehow finds awards for EVERYTHING. They have individual grade awards. Sports awards. Now academics. Oy~~
So Diane and I sat up on the bleachers and talked about random things, laughed about pointless and stupid things. It's been a while since we've done that. Jensen, Jane and Waina were up there with us getting high on candy. Mmmmm Sours. =P
I got a plaque foooor... Well it's called "Outstanding Achievement in Sr Yearbook Graphic Artist 06-07". But...1) They spelled my name wrong on it (Jaime instead of Jamie). But yno whatever. 2) Ms Koch (whom I had in Grade 11 for ENGLISH) mispronounces my name (Jamie Pao). What on earth... Does '-oh' in English sound different from "chinese". I don't know how she managed to pronounce it that way. Unbelievable. But yea whatever. It's a piece of ... fake wood?
Yesterday, Waina and I went to Red Robins with Mr Nguyen for lunch. He said it was an "FHN special lunch" lol. It was good. I was soooo full after though. So full that I felt sick after. Between us 3, we had 7 glasses of Freckled Lemonade (Waina's favourite). We had onion rings and burgers. And Waina had the fries. I always want to offer her food but then I realize she can't eat it coz she's a vegetarian (who can't eat onions and garlic...and cheese.. We always make fun of her for that lol. But it's ok =P).
Noog drove his uber cool car. His Porsche. That's the one I did the shark drawing for. His "car club". We sat for a couple hours, ate and talked about Waina's religion and driving.
I never would have guessed that Japanese people (or kids in this case) are exactly like what you see in Animes. Johnny must have felt so awkward.

So here's my dad, the bee man who attacked the bees and got stung. =P He's not your average back yard superhero.
In my bored-ness, I made myself breakfast and took a picture of it too. The items in my dish clash. Scrambled egg so nicely scrambled with a minimal amount of salt and pepper so it tastes yummy but only because of the slightly raw egg. On the opposite side of the egg, curly fries!!! So nicely dunked in oil and fried until crisp. =P Mmmm yup. It completely washes away the flavour of the egg. The stuff in the cup? Lemonade. But made from a sachet of concentrated kool aid lemon tea crystals. =P
Usually I just have a plate of scrambled egg and I find some sort of juice in the fridge to drink. It's either that or a big chocolate chip cookie and soy milk. And usually I get up around 12 so it's perfect for lunch and having a smokie or hot dog along with my egg would make sense.
I woke up at 10 today. Brandon called me just a while ago from school and I was like "Aren't you proud of me I got up 2 hours earlier than usual!" He tells me he's at school and that he's been up and studying there since 8:30. I'll never be able to get up earlier than him.
And I do mean actual birds and bees. Just before I had my graduation, I noticed a TON of bees flying around the "golf ball bush" in our backyard. It never occurred to us that the bees just might have decided to make our deck their home. What bee wouldn't want to live in our garden eh? On the deck right next to the "golf ball bush" where they can have tons of nectar right at the foot of their door.
Also, a couple days before my grad week, Pepper was out sun bathing when something buzzed right into his head which got him very jumpy. He was afraid to go outside for days.
Well as the days went by, the hive grew bigger and bigger but we didn't notice it. The day of my commencement, I was outside with my mom taking pictures. She goes "Jamie!! Sit over here!! Where the sun is!!" So I go sit next to the "golf ball bush" and start to hear buzzing right behind me. A WHOLE LOT OF BEES appear out of no where and start flying around me. Then I realized that they had been building their home underneath the bars of the deck.
A few days ago, my dad went out in his "super hero" outfit ( Joey's swimming bag over his head to protect his face. A shirt. A hoodie. Jeans. Shoes. A cap. And a long stick ). He put a tray of leaves by the hive and lit it on fire in hope that it would shoo them away. But nope. It got them really agitated. After much smoking, he prodded the hive with his stick and opened the papery walls with it exposing part of the inside. Eventually he knocked a huge lump down and placed it on the fence. It was pretty cool looking. But at the same time I had goosebumps running down my neck. It looks very.......what's the word. Looks like an alien's nest. Le Gasp!!!
Well while my dad was out there fighting bees, he found the time to snap a few photos of the hive.
And a couple days ago, while Joey's friends ran in and out of our house looking for items for their scavenger hunt, I found out a robin has made it's next in a big bush outside my dad's den. Mr and Mrs Robin sit in there and my dad has a clear view from his office.
What's cool is: Joey graduates from Grade 7 in 07. In Grade 12, her grad year would be 2012.
Joey's Graduation ceremony ended on Friday. But due to many problems within the PAC at the begin of the year, Mr Hilder allowed 2 hours this afternoon for my parents to show their DVD that they've been working on for the longest time. It didn't even hit me that they started wayyyy back in December.
Well, the PAC got to show their boring slideshow on Friday with the music they wanted and my mom got permission to show theirs. At first I thought they were just going to show the main feature and a couple other small videos, like the music videos. Well... they showed EVERYTHING. From music video to slideshow to message from "Mini Alex". Alex was diagnosed with cancer earlier on in their grade 6 year. He was interviewed and his segment was included in the DVD. From what I heard, he was very touched.
The afternoon went on and on and we watched video after video. The kids laughed, some cried apparently. Paul and a couple others brought their boxes of kleenex with them just in case. Even after the show was done, my parents were still videoing the kids. Oy~
Beano and I went to Pho for lunch after. Mmm =P. Spring Rolls. It was yum. After that we went to school coz he had to drop off some textbooks. We went back home and played soccer outside with Joseph with the roll-back man volleyball. He made Beano run ALL over the place. Each time Beano kicked the ball back to him, he'd kick it even further. =P He didn't want us to leave so Jo followed us to the garage and told Brandon that they should play 'jackpot' and explained the rules to him. =P
When we finally got Joseph to go home, we plopped down on the couch and watched Fawlty Towers. =P
Before I went to bed last night, it poured and continued to pour through the night. When I got up this morning, the sky was dull and gloomy. When I thought it had cleared up, I stepped out of the house to meet my mom at Erma around 10ish, it started to rain. While standing out on the field with my camera, the sun came out for a little while then disappeared back behind the clouds. As the first portion of Sports Day came to an end, the sun began to shine brightly.
My mom and I went home to rest and Brandon decided to phone me. We met up at Erma with Troy and Wesley who soon left before the school day ended. Beano and I went home and chilled. We made noodles ( a mess ) and watched Pokemon. Then watched part of Madagascar and headed to Joey's Graduation.
She looks so cute in her outfit. Ahem my skirt which she looks better in and her tons and tons of gems and jewels
We sat through many speeches and presentations and eventually a baby slideshow. Quite boring. B and I had a very interesting set of conversations in that hour.
Parents and guests were shooed out of the gym after all the speeches and stuffs were done so that the grade 7s could get their pizza dinner. Mmm it smelled sooo good. We went for Pho. =). By the time we dropped Brandon off at home and rested for a while, it was time to go pick Joey up.
The gym was a mess with ribbons and streamers all over the floor. Certificates were carelessly discarded on the floor to soak up spilled water from the water bottles given out. There were kids everywhere running around playing tag, chit chatting, sitting, jumping. No one was actually dancing. The last song was obviously Graduation Song by Vitamin C. All the grade 7s found their friends and partners and began dancing. Before the song even finishes, the head of the PAC goes on stage, the lights get flicked on and she starts talking in a very shrill tone letting the grade 7s know to clean up after themselves. The gym was in a horrible state. She goes: "Stop everyone! Linna lost her star!! Can you double check to make sure you don't have it! Don't worry the song will go back on! Find Linna's star! You can go whenever your ride is here!". The song never came back on. What a horrible way to end the grad! With her screaming at everyone! It should have ended with the song coming to an end and everyone clapping! I guess they still have High School.
School's been out for 2 days now yet I've been back there still. On Wednesday, Mr Slade opened the gym for us and I played from 10 til 12. By 12ish everyone was getting tired and it was an uber hot day (25 degrees) so it was pretty stuffy in the gym. I went off to write my English provincial. Ick. I thought all we had to do was read and answer comprehension questions and write a response to a poem as well as an essay on a given topic. We were given a poem to analyse, answer questions and response to, a prose essay to read, answer questions and response to, AS WELL AS an essay topic. I finished writing within 2 hours +. Beano was downstairs playing badminton still. We had a full gym of nets set up but just him and Jensen were in there still rallying.
Our pictures ALWAYS turn out weird. Either he's not smiling or I'm not smiling. But then again he never smiles for my camera. Cept for that one picture that I love of us at the night market. Hmmph!!! O well... 1) Eeee 2) Hmph! 3) =D?
Beano and I walked over to the Waterpark and by that time it was already 4 - 5 ish. We laid there for about 3 hours. Didn't seem like it was that long. But yea. 3 hours. At first we were in the shade. But I was freezing after I stuck my head under the sprinklers. So we moved our camp further out under the sun. Eventually the shade crept up after us again.
Today I wrote my Geology provincial. They really should change the dates for government exams. At least make it before school ends. My brain's in holiday mood already. Well after running around in the gym in the morning again, I sat for my Geo exam. Milross gave everyone a pep talk prior to writing. lol. "First off there are some things I need to clarify. When I told you the earth was round. Sorry. It's flat..................and remember... RFM!" Ah I'm gonna miss his class so much.
RFM : Read the Friggin' Manual!
Beano and I got comfy and watched Master and Commander until he had to leave for his brother's graduation. Tomorrow I'll be helping my mom at Erma's Sports Day followed by Joey's graduation + dance. Then we'll prob go out and "celebrate" without her. I told my parents we should have Pho. =P
Whenever I think things are ok, something happens so it's not. When I wish it were 5 years from now, 5 years from now, I'll wish I was where I am now. When I wish for something good to happen, it happens, but something else has to balance it off. I wish to be far far away in my castle away from everything. But then I'd be lonely and I'd wish to be here where everyone is. But right now I wish I was in that castle.
I went to watch Joey's band concert and swing dancing on....hmm...I don't even remember when it was. Wednesday I believe? Yea. Basically the grade 7 band played a few songs for us and a portion of them got into partners and did some swing dancing.
This is Tootsie. Joey's been bringing Pepper for walks with her friends and I guess Tootsie's just another one of Pepper's friends. Cept Pepper seemed like he wanted to attack her.
I had nothing all morning so I chilled with Jensen and Julian and Waina for a bit. It was a shortened day so the classes went by pretty quickly. I wrote my Geology Mock Final in 45 minutes. It wasn't hard at all. There were just a couple terms I wasn't sure of. Something about dinosaur bones and permineralization. Well at lunch I visited Mr Mahli with Brandon and we took a couple photos. Then after, I had to go distribute yearbooks and so Beano followed me.
Everyone got out at 1 I think... 1ish. And were supposed to go collect their books and were given an hour to run around signing them. We were handing out books for about a half hour. Mmm The school got everyone hot dogs, pop, chips.. etc.. When we got out there were TONS of shredded paper all over the cafeteria. At first I thought it was Jeff. Coz he wanted to do something like that cept with packing peanuts. That would have been easier to clean up.
I lost Brandon right from the start when we were handing out books. But eventually bumped into him in the huge pool of people. He was running around trying to look for his book. Coz apparently they didn't order one or it went missing. Which is stupid because he ordered one and paid for it. And it seems like many people's books went missing not just his. Pahal screwed some stuff up and gave Beano a different book but it has "Jin Young's" name on it, whoever Jin Young is and where he/she is.
But until Beano got his book, he became a human yearbook. It started with Jimmy writing "I love you" on his back. Then Brandon said, ok I don't have my book, sign me. Then a whole crowd of people, even some random people brought out their pens and sharpies and scribbled a buncha messages on him.
We spent 2 hours signing books and even when we were on our way out, Janette and Rachel continued to scribble on him. Lol. Oh and Jeff. He coloured Brandon's belly button.
The day started out extremely gloomy and rainy. And everyone thought it was gonna pour when it started drizzling for a bit. By 5ish, the sky cleared up and everything went smoothly. Not much was happening this year though. They didn't have many stores. The rides were pretty much the same. There weren't many people. Erma had a ton of games so that was good. But otherwise, it wasn't that spectacular. Maybe we're just growing out of it. At first we were with Diane and everyone. Eventually we split up and went separate ways. Brandon and I got food at Erma and oo candy. We walked to all the different sections and got tired of it pretty soon. By 7 we were back home on the couch watching "Saving Private Ryan". =) Joey was still out there partying til around 9:30.
The only thing I did other than eat was probably stand in line to get my tattoo done. =) The lady was sucha rip off though! 10 tickets. 50 cents per ticket. 5 bucks for this sun. I originally wanted her to do a lizard and do her crazy flower pattern around it. But she said "OHHH It's too big!" Oh well, it's different from everyone else's.
So when I walked across the stage at Commencement, my brain just zoned out. I felt like my stomach was gonna fly out of my throat. I'm standing behind Mr Derbyshire while he's talking and then Huzyk gives me this mini pep talk. Lol He's like "So Jamie when Chris walks out you move to the yellow 'x' and when he walks off you walk to Holland. Can you do that? And I was like AHH I DON'T KNOW! Then when he calls my name, everyone screams, claps, woots =D. My mind was so busy focusing on walking to Holland, shaking his hand and smiling for the camera that I completely blocked out Derby when he read my speech:
"Jamie took advantage of opportunities provided by the badminton team, media club, and career office -something something-. And would like to thank Mr Derbyshire, Mr Nguyen, Ms Bicknell, Mr Pocock, and Mr Huzyk for their support. She is also grateful for her mom, dad and sister for always being there and her friends for keeping her sane during all that busy-ness. We wish her well on her plans to make a movie, become famous, make lots of money, walk the red carpet and then fly to the moon *people laugh* after attending the Arts Institute Film Program. That's lots to do Jamie. Good Luck."
The entire time I couldn't hear a thing. I just stood there and smiled in front of the hundreds of people staring at me.
My montages just keep stretching longer and longer
We had our Jr/Sr Badminton Wind up today. Lol These things just keep going on and on eh? Well we had an hour an a half to hit around some birds. And both teams got pizza and pop from Slade, Nguyen and Pocock. Mmm
Then Noog and Slade handed out these certificates for each member in the group. Lol. As if there weren't enough awards presented. Noog got me to think of award names. (Wanta helped me. She pronounced herself: Sexiest Female and David: Most good looking?......yes...). Peter got the prettiest.. girly guy.. lol. I love how Noog phrased it though: Girly Man
Ick! No time!! My dad got me 500GB of hard disk space. =D Yayness! Time to finish up more videos!! I gave Milross the video I made of his Anticline & Syncline lab. He loved it. =) And tons of people are wanting the video I showed at Grad. I want to upload it here, but then no one will buy it. Lol I'll upload it after.
So there were barely any grade 12s at school today. When I got to school there were 2 cars in the parking lot. The grade 11s had an assembly in the morning so there were about 7 of us. There were more people in film. I should have skipped that block. So boring. In Geology, there 6 of us I think. Milross was like OK! SO! He starts explaining another concept. He was craving an iced capp so we told him we should go on a field trip to Timmy's. Usually he'd pause and go.. Ehhhh no! Today he went Ehhhhh... *grin* I'm craving an iced capp actually. Lol So funny. We took a "rock walk" across the street, stopping at each erratic (ah ah erratic! large rock dropped my a glacier) that we went by. He'd talk about it : "So this rock blah blah blah. Hey look! I think I see one over there by Timmy Ho's! Let's go!" Ah he's so funny. Same thing in english. 6 people. MacRae talked about essays then we watched her video on Vietnam and her experience teaching there. Quite boring actually. Lol.
Beano and I hung out after school for a bit since Brandon "Sonn---", the kid I'm supposed to tutor didn't come. O well. Whatever. He still owes me 5$ though. Well we went to go get something to eat and then headed for home to get ready for Commencement. Man I should really stop spending my $$$ on food. No more food! Lol I've saved up about 85 dollars this week from birthday money and from babysitting. =D Hopefully I'll get to babysit a couple more times before the summer and before I go away to Disneyland with my mom and sister.
I went for dinner at Wendy's with my family. I didn't eat anything though. After that we stopped by Uncle SH's to pick up some tape coz we ran out =P. And an external hard disk pour moi. Lol I guess that's my grad gift. 500GB of SPACE =D!!! Ton's of videos!!!!
Unfortunately my dad was taking the photos so he wasn't really in any. I gotta go hunt down the people who took pictures of us all
We were all outside taking tons and tons of pictures. Diane's parents wouldn't stop taking photos. Lol She was starting to get annoyed. Funny thing. I've been friends with Diane for so long and whenever her mom and dad speak to her in korean, I understand everything but reply in english. It's happened so many times. (Cept I don't really know korean. I guess it's the body language lol)
All the grads ran up and down and around the school for a bit snapping photos everywhere until around 6:45 ish when we had to go upstairs to line up. It was havoc.
They had the usual. Bagpipes... long lines... grand entrance onto the stage where we sat for about 2 hours. Maybe more?
Every single grad walked across the stage and was presented with a diploma folder (with no diploma..none of us have actually graduated yet =P Provincials next week) and a carnation. I sat up there with Alicia and Chris beside me and Beano was RIGHT behind me =D. Fancy that. Lol It's a sign!! He kept poking at my hat, making it crooked while I sat there feeling uber uncomfortable and hot. Alicia smuggled her cellphone and iPod up stage. She had them in between her boobs. Lmao. Funny. At least she wasn't bored.
It was so scary walking down the hallway waiting to walk across. Then my turn finally came and I had to stand next to Derbyshire while he read out Chris's little snippet. Then... "Jamie Poh......" *crowd cheers* lol. Woooo. =D I got my diploma -case- and flower, stood for a picture and had to stand some more and get another picture taken for some award. I have no idea what they are. Well one of them's the Fraser Heights Award.. I think that was 300. And the.. Solid.. Rock.. Steel... something.. to .. do with.. engineering.. and artchitecture.... Well whoever they are gave me 200 dollars towards.. school? Or whatever I want I suppose.
So the night went on and on and on. Jeff did his extremely long speech and we watched my video. =) It was good. Lotsa laughter. Cept, I figured that I put too many funny parts close to each other. I have to spread it out coz there's this roar of laughter after one scene and then they miss the next and it becomes a waste. But I got lotsa "Good Jobs" on my way out of the theatre and of school. Amy even asked if she could get a copy. I guess now I have to start work on the Grad Dinner and Dance video as well as.. Dry Grad.. My mom filmed lots of commencement so I wanna have a look at that too. =)
For about a half hour, 275 grads, parents and relatives mingled and took tons of pictures in the cafeteria. I took pictures with everyone lol. Lots of pictures to post.........soon. I haven't even posted my grad pictures yet. I wanna get all these developed eventually and stick'em in an album. But until then... ZZzzzzzZZzzzz....
Tomorrow is "Skip Day". The grade 12s of FH have pronounced tmr a day for skipping. Lol I'll prob end up going.
On Friday [My Birthday], my family and I went to East Side Marios for dinner. Mmmm. =) I didn't get my birthday song sung by the waitresses or get to spin the birthday wheel but I think 2 other tables did. It was yummy though. Their soup is the best. And their bread. Lol You can just eat the soup and bread and be done dinner.
Yesterday, I went to Guildford to shop with Beano. After walking around a couple stores, Old Navy...Jacob Connexion...Ae.. I told Beano I didn't feel like shopping anymore. We walked through Sears and I asked Brandon why we went that way. He said we were gonna get bubble tea at Pearl's. So I told him Pearls is in the other direction. We stopped and made a u-turn and headed towards The Bay. When we got out of The Bay, I told Brandon.. hey look Pearl's is over there! But.... we have to walk to either the left side or the right to get across the street. Then we realized that when we were at Sears, that was the way to go. Oy~ Either way we had to walk in the rain. Beano had a coupon so we had a 2 for 1 deal. We sat there for a while.. He had pudding with pudding jelly. I had mango with mango jelly. =P After that we headed to Earl's to meet everyone. Saturday night 5:30 and Beano was afraid that it was going to be packed. We managed to get a table for 13. =) I think there were 14 people. Lol wasn't sure if Hogen was going to show up. But he did =)
Raf gave me a box and it was on the table in front of me for a long time. Brian was dying to know what was in it. So funny. He's like "open it open it open it! I wanna know what's inside!" Raf....Waina.. and a bunch of them I don't even remember who pitched in for a nice roxy wallet. =) Apparently Brandon told them to get me a new wallet coz mine's old and fat and won't close! Which is true. lol. I've had that Nadex wallet for so long and it's got so much junk in it that it won't close. Ah so now I have a long fat roxy wallet to stuff. Next I opened Beano's gift. The entire time we were at the mall he kept hinting to me what it might be. He said that it would dissolve in the rain. And that they like r&b music. And that I had to look after them very well. And love them. And that they stayed in the forest. =S! Well there were tons of things in that Randy River bag (At one point he told me he got me size 32 jeans) There was a card that he made.(10 reasons why Jamie is the bestest!) When I was on the phone with him last night he kept complaining that he was doing arts and craft and that he hated tape lol. So funny. He even made a little pocket for the card. I love it. There's a little square that says "Hand Made Confetti" from all the little pieces of paper that was left over . =P. "Use Once". Then there was a Corona Light cap with a purple anklet that I think his mom picked out for me =). Now we can match. His dad got him a Corona Extra cap when he was down in the states. I think I posted a picture of him wearing it at Dry Grad. Hmm what else. Oh yea. The little critters that can't be out in the rain were hedgehogs. How doesn't love hedgehogs eh? =) Hmm.. David got me a gift card. Lol For Earl's. Yay now I can come back again.
I had a garlic chicken caesar salad Mmm..and Sylvia and Beano nibbled off my plate. Couple of the guys had a burger.. Pasta.. the usual. Usually when Waina comes along to dinner with us, she doesn't order anything coz she's a vegetarian and can't eat things that are dunked in animal fat. So when I saw her with her plate of fries and a burger, I asked her what was in it: Lettuce and Tomatoes. Lol and mayonaise. She's so funny. Well at least she got to eat. I told her to put the fries in her burger so it'd be tastier. =P She's so cute. Gonna miss her when we graduate.
Lily got me a birthday cake and Hoge got me fudge in the shape of musical notes. =P
After dinner, we went to David's place. Sylvia and I rented movies and we all watched Nacho Libre for the rest of the night. =) Oh yea. I had to open Julian and Alice's present. They got me butterfly and slipper earrings. So cute! Lol I heard lotsa people wanted to get me butterfly earrings coz I mentioned them at the night market a week before grad. But I got them FOR grad. Brandon's mom was gonna get me purple butterfly earrings. Sylvia wanted to get them. And Alice ended up getting them. And the second part of her present was a pair of panties. Lol. They say "You light up my life" and there's a light bulb on the front. =P She got it from Garage. I love garage! I juuuust got a jacket from there on Friday. =)
Twas a good birthday. We ended our night with poker. David got a poker set from Julian and Alice.. and everyone which was really sweet. I still don't understand poker . It's like based on chance and luck. Well Lily was out and then Alice. And Peter and Brandon were leading. I watched them play a few rounds and then I had to go home. Ahh.. Today I have to finish my video and go babysit the Knopps. Rawr. I don't wanna. But...yes. Lol. I'll prob end up playing them a movie or something. Make the night go faster. And tomorrow, Commencement. Yayness.
There's something wrong with my blog. It wont delete a post.. I deleted! But here's what I wrote last week.
Beano met me at Erma yesterday. I went to check out Joey's little sale thingy. They sold all their little flour heads in the first 10 minutes. My mom gave me 50 cents in nickels and dimes and I got...6 pieces of candy!! 8? 6... it was good..
We went home and chilled for a bit then went to school to meet everyone. We went to Mr Nguyen's for our badminton wind up. Everyone brought something to eat and we sat out in his yard and talked. Mr Pocock came a little while later and yea.. We watched the video I made for our season and playoffs then headed off to Richmond Night Market. BAD IDEA! lol
We walked around, looked at all the stuff they had. Then Sylvia and I got gelato mmmm. Basically we walked around in circles amongsts tons of chinese. By 9:30-10 ish we were all tired and it was dark out so we decided to head off. Well we got stuck in a huge line of traffic on the way out. Probably because of stupid people taking their time to cross the street. I think we were in that line up for about half an hour. When we finally got out, we got stuck on the highway on the way to the Alex Fraser. Now that was one heck of a jam. The traffic didn't budge at all. It would move a couple feet every 10 minutes and all the cars had their engines off. After waiting about 45 minutes, a fire truck squeezes through all the cars and heads towards the bridge. About another hour later, a police car drives through with a trail of cars following behind. They were trying to turn all the cars back in the other direction. That took another hour.
Once we FINALLY got out of the traffic. We got lost. Lol.. And drove to the border and back. Phew.
So I stayed up last night til around 1 in the morning to finish the grad video. I started compressing the file and thought I'd just rest for a while. I ended up falling asleep til around 5 in the morning and put together a crappy dvd menu and let it burn until I had to get up at 7:40.
Mr Nguyen watched it in the morning with me and then gave it to Emerson to show the grad committee. People are so grumpy. They aren't friendly at all. I can't stand any of our principals. He was being so stupid. Just the way he talks. Well.. not only was he being stupid, him and the grad committee members were so stupid that when they sat down to watch the video, they sat there and watched the dvd menu for 10 minutes coz they thought it was part of the video. Then they made comments like "This is pretty long and boring." Uh.. thanks? After I spent 2 days and nights working on it not getting any sleep, they watch the menu and tell me it's boring coz they aren't smart enough to press play.
Yes. I'll stop grumbling. Tonight I have to finish my film studies project. Not looking forward to that.
Jelly <3 Bean! Day before grad when we went to Noog's badminton party. Beano's hair was a mess. I still have to blog about our crazy night at Richmond. Ah no time!
Beano: Hey Butterfly
Jmerz: Hey Pansy =P
So correction, Callow lives opposite Bothwell Elementary which is across from where LILY lives. lol. Fraser Heights probably isn't going to let Callow have any peace and probably will not rest until he is gone. News from the community meeting came on today and there were tons and tons of people in our gym yelling and screaming and swearing. I wanted to go. Darn. There were so many angry mothers pissed off and all that.
There was even a protest going on outside his house. All the moms and their kids had signs and were yelling at his house, telling him to leave and that he isn't wanted. They even lined the road surrounding his house with words like "rapist here" "go away" in chalk.
He was also out doing an interview with Global either yesterday or today too. Pretty creepy. There were angry parents saying that it's just unacceptable that he's walking around freely in the village area with high school and elementary school children around. Cole was on tv. lol.
When I interviewed people for our grad video today, they were making jokes about him as well. Seems like the entire community's worried about this guy.
So who's the victim now? He committed these crimes 20 years ago and was going to be released early for good behavior. Can a person change if they are allowed to? Or do they remain the same until death? Is he going to rape someone and get kicked out of Fraser Heights or be sentenced to death (actually I'm not sure what his next penalty would be. It'd be pretty stupid if it isn't death though) We aren't really doing much to help him. But just because everyone's extremely afraid of this guy, I guess who wouldn't be. But where's he going to go next? To another town just to be made fun of, yelled at and kicked out again?
There was a community meeting held at Fraser Heights Sec at 7 today. I was thinking of going but Mr Nguyen and Ms Bicknel told me it's a waste of time and that there are many sex offenders around and to just be very very careful. This guy's apparently a 'serial rapist' though. He moved back (I guess he's stayed here before) here and is staying with his sister who apparently was chased down by Global TV news reporters. Callow lives with his sister down by 112th. That's about 2-3 blocks away from Erma I think. Well from what I've been hearing from our class discussions, this guy served his time and was granted a shorter sentence for good behavior but served the full term of 20 years.
So my school was on the news live this evening on Global TV. I've seen that van so many times.
So what we've allll been waiting for this entire year has finally come, Grad. Unfortunately we weren't very organized and aren't wealthy enough to rent a limo but we had individual rides. Raf, Julian, Brian and Jensen drove us all downtown. Beano and I met at Diane's place to take some pictures together and then all of us headed to Krissy's for more.
We had planned to go to QE to take pictures. But then I figured it'd be too long. However we were an hour and a half early for the dinner. =P We walked around and took a buncha pictures though.
By 6:30 -7 ish everyone was inside the dining hall taking pictures. Pretty much everyone had cameras. I probably have to hunt down all the people who took pictures of me. There were so many. I am soo tired right now. So I'm just going to paste the pictures up here and blog about it tomorrow. I haven't even blogged about our trip to Richmond Night Market.
The dance floor was pretty small. I thought it'd be bigger. Hmm well...Milross did his speeches. The grad council did their speeches. Jeff (Valedictorian) did his speech. Then we got to eat. Mmm. It was so so. Nothing too special. I think most of our 95$ went to the decorations and venue since we're in the Pan Pacific downtown. The air conditioning was on full blast too. I was freezing my butt off the entire night.
Didn't think I was going to be out dancing. But Brandon pulled me in and we did a couple fast songs and a couple slow. The floor was sooo small though. We kept bumping into people.
The night didn't seem very long. I did lots of sitting and watching of people but it went by so quickly. Brian drove us back to FH and we got changed for Dry Grad.
The PAC decorated the school and made it look all tropical. Entire school looked different and was uber hot. They had a little Tiki Bar thing. Instead of margaritas, we had colourful slushies. =P There was a table of snacks from cookies to sushi. In the gym they had those big blow up bouncy things; Uber large twister, this elastic game, jousting. And they had hockey. They had a make up mini casino where you play to win fake money which you can exchange for raffle tickets to win prizes.
Oh they had a HUGE selection of prizes. They had nintendo DS lites, laptops, ipods, headphones.. many many things. And basically they put all the grad's names in a bucket and drew it randomly. =( I didn't win anything. Sylvia got a new camera. So sweet.
At 2, they had a hypnotist perform in the theatre. That was SO strange. Very scary stuff. The 28 volunteers who were up on stage being hypnotized were...it was just really weird. The guy had full control of them. He made Jensen's leg get "stuck" to the ground and made his hands move. He made them dance around with chairs and make superman poses. He got them to drive a spaceship and finger darth vader who was outside their "spaceship". He got them to watch porno and scream at the sight of "their mothers being in the porno". He got them to like his appearance from the from and shriek at the sight of his back. It was very very weird.
We had another 2 hours after to kill so Beano and I went to get our caricatures done. He has the picture right now. I should have taken a photo. O well. I'll get him to scan it soon. Then we had our futures read. The psyhic lady said that I will be very very rich in the future and I'll be very successful in what I want to do. She said that I will live in a nice house (a castle) far away from people where it's quiet as I am a quiet person (dead on accurate). She said that I am a very strong person. For Brandon she said that he isn't quite sure what he wants to do but he's a magician and has all the tools necessary. He can make anything happen if he wished to. Eventually, he will own a business of his own and be very successful as well. Ah that was so cool. Not all the cards are good fortunes so...
We left at 5 and crashed at Krissy's. Everyone just slept for a few hours. So tired. I'm still very tired. So ... time to go!!
