[Footy]

We did logging and capturing today in class. Yay "fun stuff". The computers were uber slow. And I had to sit there with people who poked the keyboard with the fingers like it was a dead body or something. It took this lady longer than the clip itself to type out the name. It was painful. If I hadn't stopped her from doing tons of things we probably wouldn't have any footage and they'd all be named weird and uneven some in upper case some in lower. It'd be so unorganized and o em jee. So many itty bitty things bug me. Another girl would click the box with the scene # in it and delete the entire thing by hitting backspace 2wice like if it was a 2 digit number. It'd be like 16.. she deletes 1, 6. Then types 1, 7. Ugh!! I wanted to tell her just to take off ONE number. Yea.. But I think if she had just typed a lot faster I wouldn't have been so bothered.

mrnguyenhalloween07.jpgAfter school I visited Superstore to see if I could get my last pay stub. Then I realized it's Wednesday and supervisor's not in. Sooooo. Lol When I got there, Kat was all dressed up in a red dress. My good friend the photo lady from upstairs was in her spider witch outfit. She's hilarious "I'm the scary b*tch! I mean witch!" Yea she's funny like that. After Superstore I walked to the bus stop and headed for FH. Went to find Joey and talked to Mr Nguyen. He was dressed as a pirate. =P.

Awwww now all the kiddies are outside in the cold, darkness and I'm sitting here in the dark as well (coz my parents aren't giving out candy this year). Wanna go out!!!!!!!

I went through my shelf the other day and stumbled across some goofy pictures of Joey and I. I'm not sure how old we are here. Few months to a year or two. Lol Also couldn't find any recent pictures of Joey on my laptop so... no now picture of her.

[Bed Head]

I finally could not stand the long hair crawling down the back of my neck. It was annoying coz yea. Hair on top wasn't long enough to tie. But the back is too long, way longer than the top. So my mom suggested we try a hair salon at the mall coz I'm scared of the garage lady. So yea. I had no idea which salon it was. I just knew where it was. And it turned out to me Magicuts. When we got there I was like O_O *old lady with curly hair walks out of store*. I was like THIS IS THE PLACE?! She said just to try it. *Gulp*. Lol. Yea and old lady cut my hair. She touched my hair like she was handling something so delicate like it was gonna break if she moved a little faster. And she cut everything straight. It was NOT cool. She took forever. And I told her. Cut it shorter. And layer it. Well she cut it shorter. But she didn't layer it! And part way she even said. Do you want me to use the other scissors? She didn't say "The thinning shears". Nope. She asked me what tools to use. I don't know!!! You're the "expert"! Yea... My mom ended up fixing my hair. Now it's uber standy uppy and I have major bed hair. [See my mom's blog for pictures]

sfuttveffect.jpg Haven't really learnt much in the past 4 weeks. Certain things are clearer but yea. Things have been slow. I sit in class and listen to tutorials but I do my own work. In a way it's good coz I sit here for 4 hours and teach myself tutorials. =P Stuff I don't have time for at home, I do here! =)

My dad doesn't wanna send me to the skytrain station anymore coz it takes him about 40 minutes to get home coz of the traffic lining up to get on the Portman. So... this morning he drove me to the bus stop just by our house. It was uber cold. It was nice. Hopped on the bus to Surrey Central. Got there about 8 minutes earlier than usual. Got to Metro 10 minutes early. Got a sausage and egger burger from A&W coz I forgot to have breakfast (Yea.. I got downstairs and I can't even remember what I did. Just worried about catching the bus that I forgot). I reached school around the same time I do every morning.

Mmm now I'm looking through DVD Studio Pro tutorials. We're starting that next week. Our tutorials are done for today. An hour to go. I shall go borrow some Chaplin!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Beano got me a new hat! :) Every time we go shopping, we'll try on a bunch of caps and hats and there was one addidas army hat that he loved on me but we didn't get. He went to SportChek with Camy and got me this one. Burton! It's purtty. I love it. Haven't gotten a hat in so long. Last one was also given to me by Beano. My mom and I are gonna get a haircut next week. I've decided I'm gonna chop the back off uber short. Shorter than what it was before. Don't think I'll look too great in caps for a while again. My hair looked really nice today (Lol it needs a wash that's why =P)

[Of Beano and Burgers]

beanoburger.jpg About 2-3 years ago, when I went shopping for jeans, I had to get 1 or 2 sizes up depending on what store we were at coz I couldn't fit into the size 0 Club Monaco jeans that Siong Chin gave me. I left those in my closet to sit for a long long time. Don't remember how long after I decided to take them out again to wear em. They fit! lol I think it was when I felt like my jeans were becoming looser and looser =P. I told my mom that I'm losing weight! She says I haven't been eating properly. Meat makes me feel ick. So my diet consists of sammiches', peanut butter granola crunchies and choco pudding. Mmm. And the occasional burger when I hang out with Brando.

Haven't seen these dudes in a while! I mentioned in an entry that now that we're all out of high school, I bump into so many people on the bus from FH and it's like, you're in your comfort zone, you feel like the world isn't too too big and you're not lost in it alone. Couple weekends ago I chilled with Beano, Raf, Dustin and Dustin's friend. We watched 28 weeks later. Yeesh! Never again! I told myself I'm never gonna watch another scary movie since we saw Saw III. But yea, Dustin loves his scary movies (he picked the movie).

My dad came back from Singapore/Malaysia a couple days ago. He brought back lotsa goodies. =P An iPod included. He says it's my Christmas present this year. =D. Since Joey got her nano the last time we went back, this time he got one for me. Pretty new nano.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

How was work. It was..... fun. I worked my last shift with Waina. I've been there about 3 months and I never got to work with her. I sold TVs and what not. Lots on the last night. Well, time to find another job. I signed up at school for poster design jobs. But I have no idea if they pay for that. We'll see who's looking at Metro. Lululemon (apparently it's a really good job and tons of people want it. but those tons of people probably fall under silly people who love that store, which is quite a lot) and Old Navy are hiring.

[Until the end of time]

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Everyday I love you more adn more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time.

[Panasonic 3CCD]

3ccd.jpg We've finally had a chance to play around with the camera. It's pretty straight forward. The trouble is having to book and loan it out from the equipment room. The tripod's huge and the box the camera comes in is huge too. Chelsey, Ok Shim, Julie and I filmed our first project couple days ago. Wasn't much. Just exercises.

[Moulin Rouge]

We watched this part of Moulin Rouge (as well as snippets of other movies but this was my favourite) today. I loved it. Never ever thought of wanting to watch this. But after watching this scene I went straight to the library and put it on hold. =P Library called me but I couldn't pick it up. Yea. =D!!! I'll get it tomorrow.

What I found cool cool?? yea cool was, a couple weeks ago, Brandon sang "Roxanne - The Police" while we were in the car on the way to dinner. A couple days ago, he showed me the music video when he came over. Last night he wrote to me "...Come what may, I will love you..." This morning, when I sat in class, Anthony (my lecturer) set up the dvd and the scene is called "21: Come what may". She sings "Come what may, I will love you, til my dying days..." while the stage choreographer sings Roxanne. Immediately my brain went, o em jee, Brandon watched Moulin Rouge? I told him and he was amazed too. Hehe. Yea I found that pretty crazy.

[Moose on the Roof]

So gramma's here. She came on Saturday. Here's today's conversation of the day:

"There's something in the chimney"
"Yea it's making that scratchy sound like before"
"Maybe it's a rat"
"Squirrel."
"Racoon!"

My grandmother goes, "I know! Moose!"

We were like... whaaat. Ah so funny. Just the thought of the moose on the roof.

"One mouse. Two mice. One moose.. two.. meese!"

[School is cool]

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

greenandyellow.jpgIt's been a while since I've been able to blog. Been busy with... stuffs. I don't even know what I've been uber busy with. Well there's school... and work...and hmm. Yea that's pretty much it. Go to school Monday to Thursday. Work Friday to Sunday. But yea I've quit from Superstore so my weekends will be a little free-r for now. I applied at Starbucks in Fraser Heights. It's been a few days and they haven't phoned me yet. =S So yea. If I don't get the job there by next Monday, I'll apply at the Metrotown one. Then I can go there after school. =P Yea...

School's a little better now. People talk now. Yesterday FS 101 got cancelled so we chilled at this girl's place. She rents a place 5 minutes away from Ai so it was pretty convenient. She said I can stay over at her place on Mondays if I wanted, since we end late and start early. But yea, I think I'll have to get a job again first. Hmmm.

[The people on the bus go...]

"HEY WATCH IT! YOUR BACKPACK ALMOST HIT ME!"

My backpack didn't even touch her. I got on the bus after school today. Just as the bus arrived at the stop, a guy in a green sweater/green bandanna walked up in line. He let me go first since I was sitting there. On the bus he sat with me. Next to me, there was a lady with her bag and umbrella. She was occupying 2 seats. I took my back pack off and sat down. As I moved my bag onto my lap, she screamed at me like my back pack was causing her so much pain. I swear I didn't touch her at all.

At the next stop, I bunch of people came on and the bus slowly became more crowded. An Indian guy had his back pack infront of him. He took it off to put on the floor. It didn't touch her. She screamed again: HEY WATCH YOUR BACKPACK. He apologized, just like me, had no idea why she was screaming but because she was, he apologized anyway.

The bus carried on route. A girl was standing, back facing the lady. She was at least an arms length away from the lady. The lady gets up, stretches over to the girls back pack, grabs it, shakes it around and yells again: HEY WATCH YOUR BACKPACK IT ALMOST HIT ME. The asian lady standing next to her was like... No it didn't!!

Very weird.

The dude in the green sweater and bandanna talked to me. We listened that lady talk to herself and talked about school. He introduced himself and said that people on the bus don't talk enough. He said he doesn't like how people get on the bus, and sit amongst others without talking. Lol Well he was pretty friendly. At Metro, he went off his way and I went mine. So yea.. pretty cool. I made a friend...whom I'll probably not ever meet again. It's so hard to make friends at A.i but I make friends with someone from BCIT!!?

[Continuity Schmontinuity]

We just spent an hour and a half watching Ocean's 11 in class. Only got through 20 minutes of it. There are so many things that people don't notice and probably wouldn't unless they were told.

Well I got to class late again today. There's a family whose kids I babysat a couple years ago, once, who live up the street from us by the playground. They're a really nice buncha people. And the husband works at IBM which is right smack next to Ai. So they offered a ride. And the past 2 days have NOT been great. It's good I get an extra half hour of sleep. But I get to class 15 - 20 minutes late coz of the traffic getting on the portman. By the time we got onto the portman yesterday, it was already 8:20. Not cool. He told me it'd be better today and he picked me up 15 minutes earlier today. We drove all around Fraser Heights finding the best way out. That took 15 minutes. Waiting in line took another 10. When we got out, there were accidents happening all over the place. Well.. back to training.

[Thanksgiving II]

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

tgatbs.jpgAfter spending my uber late night watching everyone play Mario Party and stuffing themselves with pie, I got up the next day to get ready for another dinner. I went to get some brownies and nanaimo bars and then my mom dropped me off at Beano's. His mommy made mashed potatoes and cheese biscuits =). We headed off to B's gramma and grampa's house. Oh.. lol but before that we stopped by A&W for -lunch-. I had an iced capp and two bites of Beano's burger.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We were the second group of people there. Gramma and grampa made the turkey and stuffing and the peas and carrots. We hung out for a bit. Lotsa exchanges of hugs and catching up with old times. Shortly after, more people came. Last time I saw all these people was 2 years ago at Beano's surprise party. And there were even more people. But I guess I had Dustin and Troy to keep me company. =P

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I helped Beano set the plates on the table. It was pretty. They moved the picnic table into the dining/living room and tilted them diagonally. Everyone fit perfectly. There was.. well the turkey.. stuffing.. veggies.. mmm yummy.

B and I were sooooo full but how can you miss dessert eh? He took a scoop of everything. Pumpkin trifle, pumpkin pie, brownies, nanimo bars, ice cream. Mmmmm...

Everyone sat around.. watched TV, caught up. And just like that, the night was done and we were on our way home.

[Thanksgiving Dinner]

thedog.jpgThe Kohs and the Queks and -extended family- (lol) are here for Thanksgiving. My mom made turkey and salad and stuffing and apple pie. And there was potatoes and roast beef and stuff. We're all just playing Mario Party 6 right now on the GC (It needs to be put to work SOME times). Yea.. so right now everyone's just sitting down again to continue the board game after apple pie and ice cream.

Today started off at 6:30. I had to drag myself out of bed (well actually.. I had it pretty easy. I slept pretty well) and head to Superstore. There wasn't much to do. And yea.. I don't know. Feels like there was lots of people but at the same time, it was pretty empty. I don't know how that works out. I think maybe coz the past couple of days I've been thinking about quitting. I thought about it all morning. From 7 am to around 12, I had absolutely nothing to do. So I had a chance to stand around, watch Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer about 3-4 times, and think about:

The people who love their job at superstore love to grumble about the simplest things such as a customer who asks for an antenna for their TV. And not only do they grumble: "Like omyGAWD right it's so frickin' stupid, "they go on about it forever.

The people who love their job at superstore love their exactoknives and love talking about them. They always carry it around in their pocket to open up boxes of stock. And the department's knife is their knife.

The people who love their job at superstore love when something "big" happens (which probably isn't too big a deal so I guess that must mean their jobs are pretty boring and maybe they don't really like it but have to pretend coz they have to). By something "big", it could mean, some one trying to steal stuff and make a dash for it (which btw did happen just yesterday right when I got in in the evening. never thought I'd witness a chase), or it could just be a spill in one of the aisles.

The people who love their job at superstore love to grumble about the managers even though both parties could easily get along with each other. Same goes with managers grumbling at other employees.

The people who love their job at superstore love to talk about what they sold that day as well as how much sales their department got.

Yea, I couldn't imagine ever working in retail all my life. But I guess some people like it. I just don't find anything that anybody at the store talks to me about very interesting. Their all so enthusiastic though. Lol I just play along.

Wow.. I just wasted lots of space talking about my work. But before I go on, one last thing. Over the summer, I'd be working almost 5 days a week and have about 17 - 20 hours a week. Now I work just weekends and I get around 13 - 15 hours which is still pretty good for just 2 days out of my 3 day weekend.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

On to the dinner! After work, my mom picked me up and then picked Beano up. He helped my mom make dinner. Lol My mom get the ingredients ready and he pretty much put it all together. First there was the stuffing. My mom told him to put in the butter, onions, carrots and what not. Beano peeled and cut the apples. He rolled out the pastry and put the apple slices in and folded it into the pie shape. After that him and my mom both peeled the chestnuts and I got so bored waiting for him to be done, I ended up helping him with the last 4. lol. By then his fingers were dead. He said that "peeling chestnuts is worse than unloading huge 40 lb boxes off a container. My neck hurts, my shoulders hurt, my arms hurt, my fingers hurt."

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Beano and I lazed around and then him and Jo jo decided to play scrabble. My mom played with us too. Lol Phooie. We did that and watched Monsters Inc. =D!! That was the longest game of Scrabble I've ever played. But I guess I never play scrabble so. =P I came in 3rd. Beano was first, then Joey, then me, then my mom. I was quite proud of my double word. Lol I made tit and taxes. Ah ah.. pretty crazy ehh??? lol

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Time somehow managed to creep by really fast. Everyone's still here right now. Parents are, yea talking about kids. And kids are still playing Mario Party. Sleep sounds good right about now. Tomorrow I have Beano's thanksgiving dinner to look forward to. Yay.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Pepper sat and watched us from below all day long. I love how he sits. Just like a teddy bear.

["Oh cheese and donuts."]

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket It's been raining all week. Today, the sun came out.

Monday:

jmedogtab.jpgFS 101 with Mackenzie. I missed the first bus. So I was a minute late. Small lecture theatre, 4 hours of non-stop talking, with Mackenzie having to leave part way, just like S.W.E.A.T. We watched a series of shorts. Lotsa silent b/w movies. Lumiere Brothers, Griffith, Edison... etc etc. I sat in the theatre for 4 hours. But I guess compared to my other seating arrangements in my other classes, that one was the most comfortable.

Killed one hour at the first Seminar right after Mackenzie's class. I ran around the school doing this scavenger hunt. Ran up and down stairs, in and out buildings, out in the rain. D=. All that for a juice box and some chips. I think they were giving out flash drives at the beginning. But I was too late. =(

Intro to Video production. The hour went by pretty fast. By that time it was already 6. We had a long 4 hour discussion on television and advertising. Yeh, now that I think about it, I don't know how that was possible. But yea.. 4 hours talking about tv shows and holding the audience's attention.

Tuesday: Visual story telling. I realized that there are 4 different buildings here and that Ai DOES have quite a few classes. We watched a buncha openings to movies and watched how dialogue and imagery tell stories differently.

Wednesday:
"Who around here isn't used to macs. Who here... picks up the mouse for the first time and yno... talks to it"

CC130 Intro to Digital Editing with Rob. We've been talking about editing and what an editor is for the past hour and a half. Rob's hilarious. He's kinda like Milross but 10 times funnier. He said at 10, we'll watch The Cutting Edge documentary. He sets it all up on his computer and the music starts playing. And he's all excited about it. But there's no projector. "Oh cheese and donuts. I'll be 4 minutes. I'm just gonna go kill somebody. I'll be right back."

Thursday: DVD imaging and authoring. Photoshop. DVD menus. DVD covers and business cards.

So far for homework, I have to watch the intro to any tv show, watch Ocean's 11, and make a business card.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket When you come out of highschool, you leave all your friends and all the people you've never really talked to all 5 years. Then you get into this strange new environment and know nobody and you're just one person walking amongst tons and no one talks. You get to class, sit, listen, think, and leave. And then when you get on the C74 towards Fraser Heights and bump into any familliar face, whether or not you talked to them lots in highschool, it's like they become your best buddy and there's so much to talk about.
